Child's Play (1988 Film)
''Child's Play'' is a 1988 American slasher film directed by Tom Holland, from a screenplay by Holland, Don Mancini and John Lafia, and based on a story by Mancini. It is the first film in the '' Child's Play'' series and the first installment to feature the character Chucky. It stars Catherine Hicks and Chris Sarandon with Brad Dourif as Chucky. Its plot follows a widowed mother who gives a doll to her son, unaware that the doll is possessed by the soul of a serial killer. David Kirschner
David Maxwell Kirschner (born May 29, 1955) is an American film & television producer and screenwriter. His producing credits include the animated feature ''An American Tail'' (also wrote) and '' Child's Play'' horror film series. Career After studying at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts, Kirschner began his career designing album cover art for Neil Diamond, most notably Neil Diamond's ''The Jazz Singer'', and illustrating characters for the '' Muppets'' and ''Sesame Street''. In 1983, Kirschner created and released children's book series ''Rose Petal Place'', which spawned two Television specials, toys, clothing, and a wide array of licensed consumer products. Andy Barclay
Andy Barclay is a fictional character and protagonist of the '' Child's Play'' horror film series. He is a young boy who, after receiving a Good Guy doll for his sixth birthday, is the prime suspect in a series of mysterious murders. In reality the murders are being committed by the doll, which was possessed by serial killer Charles Lee Ray (aka Chucky). The duo go on to become archenemies.
