Chicago Park, California
Chicago Park (formerly: Storms Station) is a residential and unincorporated historic agricultural community in Nevada County, California. It is located along Highway 174, with its center at the intersection of Mt. Olive Road. The neighborhood gets its name from its founding residents, who came from Chicago to California in the late 1800s to grow fruit, which was often shipped back to Illinois for consumption. Chicago Park is about 9 miles southeast of Grass Valley and about 3 miles north of Colfax. Tehama, California
Tehama (Wintun for "high water") is a city in Tehama County, California, United States. The population was 418 at the 2010 census, down from 432 at the 2000 census. Etymology Tehama is most commonly believed to be derived from the Wintun word for "high water", though there are others definitions that have been proposed such as "low land", "salmon", "mother nature" or "shallow" — any of which would be an accurate description of a location where the river is normally shallow enough to ford, where fishermen are a common sight during the salmon run, and winter floods are a regular occurrence. History A Nomlaki village of Wintun people once stood on the site of modern-day Tehama on the western bank of the Sacramento River.
