Chicago Outfit Roller Derby
Chicago Outfit Roller Derby (commonly referred to as The Outfit) was a women's flat-track roller derby league based in Chicago, Illinois. Founded in 2007, the Chicago Outfit was a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). In 2022 Chicago Outfit Roller Derby merged with the DuPage Derby Dames to form a new league called Chicago-Style Roller Derby. Chicago-Style Roller Derby currently plays at Coachlite Skate Center in Roselle, Illinois. History and league structure The Outfit formed in 2007, after the collapse of another roller derby organization in Chicago, the Chi-Town Sirens. While many of the former Sirens joined "the other" Chicago league, the Windy City Rollers, the rest launched the Outfit as a new organization that only played against other league's teams, rather than creating its own home league. Demolition City Roller Derby
Demolition City Roller Derby (DCRD) is a women's flat-track roller derby league in Evansville, Indiana, and is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). History and organization DCRD became Evansville's first flat-track roller derby league in January 2007. Since then DCRD has established itself as a non-profit league and is skater-owned and managed. DCRD has contributed over $16,000 to local charities and non-profit agencies as well as volunteered for organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Easter Seals, CJ's Bus, Indiana Blood Center and more. In June 2010, DCRD was granted membership into the North Central Region of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). Junior roller derby is the sport of roller derby, modified for children and adolescents up to 18 years of age. The sport is played in both modified-contact, known as "positional blocking," and full-contact approaches, to facilitate safety across multiple age and skill groups. North Central Region (WFTDA)
The Women's Flat Track Derby Association's North Central Region was formed in 2008 when WFTDA changed from having just two regional tournaments (East and West), to five, made up of teams from four regions: East, North Central, South Central and West. Members in the central part of the Canada Region competed in the North Central Region. For 2011, the region was reduced in size, with teams in Nebraska moving to the South Central Region. WFTDA has now moved away from the Big 5 WFTDA Championships qualification tournament structure, last competed in 2012. WFTDA Championships
The International Women's Flat Track Derby Association Championships ("WFTDA Championships" or "Champs" for short) are the leading competition for roller derby leagues. The Championships are organised by the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). They originated in 2006 as the National WFTDA Championship. The "Dust Devil" tournament was contested in front of several thousand fans in Tucson, Arizona.
