The second season of ''Chicago Med'', an American medical drama television series with executive producer Dick Wolf, and producers Michael Brandt, Peter Jankowski, Andrew Schneider and René Balcer The second season premiered September 22, 2016 and concluded on May 11, 2017. ''Chicago Med'' is an American medical drama television series created by Dick Wolf and Matt Olmstead, and is the third installment of Wolf Entertainment's ''Chicago'' franchise. The series premiered on NBC on November 17, 2015. ''Chicago Med'' follows the emergency department (ED) doctors and nurses of the fictional Gaffney Chicago Medical Center. On February 27, 2020, NBC renewed the series for a sixth, seventh, and eighth season. The sixth season premiered on November 11, 2020. The seventh season premiered on September 22, 2021. Kelly Severide is a fictional character on the NBC drama '' Chicago Fire''. As 2nd shift's lieutenant at Firehouse 51, Severide is the leader of Rescue Squad 3.
