Chiang Mai Night Bazaar or just Night Bazaar ( th, ไนท์บาซาร์, ''Nai Basa'') is directly east of the city moat, between it and the Ping River, on Chang Khlan Road, between Tha Phae and Sridonchai Roads. It is known for its handicrafts and portrait paintings. There are also jewelry, toys, clothing, and high tech items such as CDs and DVDs. The market is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Chiang Mai. At first, the market was owned by Chinese merchants, but it grew in size as more commercial buildings were built, and it was no longer owned by a single group of people. Ping River
The Ping River ( th, แม่น้ำปิง, , ), along with the Nan River, is one of the two main tributaries of the Chao Phraya River. It originates at Doi Thuai in the Daen Lao Range, in Chiang Dao district, Chiang Mai province. After passing Chiang Mai, it flows through the provinces of Lamphun, Tak, and Kamphaeng Phet. Chang Khlan Road
Chang Khlan ( th, ช้างคลาน) is a ''tambon'' (subdistrict) of Mueang Chiang Mai District in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand, and a neighbourhood of the city of Chiang Mai. It lies east and southeast of the historic walled city, alongside the west bank of the Ping River, with its main throughfare Chang Khlan Road running north–south through the area.
