Chhel Vayeda
Chhel Anandji Vayeda (1935 – 12 November 2014) was a Gujarati art director and production designer from India. Early life Chhel was born in 1935 in Dwarka (now in Gujarat) to Anandji and Jayakunvar. He was the youngest in seven siblings. His family moved to Bhuj when he was ten years old. He completed matriculation and joined School of Arts, Bhuj affiliated with University of Bombay. He started his job as assistant draftsman in state bus transport, GSRTC. His elder brother practicing law in Mumbai introduced him to Dr. D. G. Vyas who was an art critic and director of Sir J. J. School of Arts. He resigned from GSRTC and moved to Mumbai to study in Sir J. J. School of Arts in 1960. Career Gujarati stage director actor Honey Chhaya brought him in the field of art direction and production design in 1963 at Rangbhoomi Natya Academy. Dwarka
Dwarka () is a city and a municipality of Devbhumi Dwarka district in the state of Gujarat in Western India. It is located on the western shore of the Okhamandal Peninsula on the right bank of the Gomti river at the mouth of the Gulf of Kutch facing the Arabian Sea. Often identified with the Dwarka Kingdom, described in the ''Bhagavata Purana'' as the ancient kingdom of Krishna and is believed to have been the first capital of Gujarat. ''Train to Pakistan'' is a 1998 Indian Hindi film adapted from Khushwant Singh's 1956 classic novel by the same name set in the Partition of India of 1947 and directed by Pamela Rooks. The film stars Nirmal Pandey, Rajit Kapur, Mohan Agashe, Smriti Mishra, Mangal Dhillon and Divya Dutta. Plot The film is set in Mano Majra, which is a quiet fictional village on the border of India and Pakistan, close to where the railway line crosses the Sutlej River. Kanku
''Kanku'' is a 1969 Gujarati social drama film, starring Kishore Bhatt, Kishore Jariwala, Pallavi Mehta, directed by Kantilal Rathod. The film was adapted from Pannalal Patel's short story of the same name. The film won National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Gujarati at the 17th National Film Awards. Plot The film deals with struggles of a widow, Kanku (Pallavi Mehta). Production Gujarati writer Pannalal Patel had written a 20-pages long short story ''Kanku'' in 1936 for Diwali Special edition of ''Nav-Saurashtra'' magazine. Kantilal Rathod contacted him and convinced him to adapt it into film. Patel also helped him writing script and dialogues of the film. Soundtrack Release The film was released in theatres in 1969. The film was released on Home Video DVD by Moser Baer. It has shorter cut of 136 minutes, 12 minutes less than the original. ''Ankahee'' (''English: Unsaid'') is a 1984 Indian drama film directed by Amol Palekar and starring Amol Palekar, Deepti Naval and Dr. Shriram Lagoo. It was based on the Marathi-language play ''Kalay Tasmai Namaha'' by C. T. Khanolkar. Honey Chhaya
Honey Chhaya (1930 – 28 February 2016) was an Indian writer, actor and director. He directed and acted in both Hindi and Gujarati films and plays. Life Honey Chhaya was born in 1930. He started his acting career in 1944. Initially, he acted in street plays spreading the message of the Indian independence movement. Later, he started producing plays for the Indian People's Theatre Association. He had a long career association with Salim Khan, whom he assisted in film writing. He was also a business secretary of Salman Khan and served a critical role in building his career. He directed several Gujarati films and plays. He brought Chhel Vayeda-Paresh Daru in production design career. He wrote a column on forensic science in Gujarati weekly; ''Janmabhoomi Pravasi''. He acted in several TV commercials.
