Cheung King Wai
Cheung King Wai MH (; born 3 September 1985) is a Hong Kong former professional racing cyclist, who won a gold medal at the 2006 Asian Games in the points race. Cheung currently works as a directeur sportif for UCI Continental team. His younger brother, Cheung King Lok is also a famous professional cyclist in Asia. Track Cycling
Track cycling is a bicycle racing sport usually held on specially built banked tracks or velodromes using purpose-designed track bicycles. History Track cycling has been around since at least 1870. When track cycling was in its infancy, it was held on velodromes similar to the ones used today. These velodromes consisted of two straights and slightly banked turns, though they varied more in length and material than the modern 250m track. One appeal of indoor track racing was that spectators could be easily controlled, and hence an entrance fee could be charged, making track racing a lucrative sport. Early track races attracted crowds of up to 2,000 people. Indoor tracks also enabled year-round cycling for the first time. The Tour de Taiwan is an annual professional road bicycle racing stage race held in Taiwan since 1978, and has been part of the UCI Asia Tour since 2005. It has been classed a 2.1 category race for the first time in 2012. History The Tour de Taiwan was established by Giant Sports Foundation's founder, King Liu, in 1978.
