Chesterfield Panthers Rugby Union Football Club
Chesterfield Panthers is an English rugby union club. They play in the lower tiers of the Midlands Division, currently participating in Midlands Division 4 East (North). History Chesterfield Panthers was formed in 2008 following the merger of Chesterfield RUFC and North Derbyshire RUFC. The move, which has the full support of the RFU, heralded the formation of one stronger club in the area of Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire. The Panthers made their lair at Sheffield Road, Stonegravels at the ground previously used by the Chesterfield club and fielded Senior Men's and Ladies' teams in the RFU league and cup competitions for the coming season. In November 2012 new playing facilities were established at a new venue followed in July 2013 by a new clubhouse at 2012 Dunston Road, 2.5 north of the town centre. Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire Rugby Football Union
The Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire & Derbyshire Rugby Football Union (NLD RFU) is a governing body for rugby union in part of The Midlands, England. The union is the constituent body of the Rugby Football Union for the counties of Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire and Derbyshire, with each county having also having their own sub-unions with additional club cup competitions. Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire 1 was a tier 9 English Rugby Union league with teams from Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Derbyshire taking part. Promoted teams moved up to Midlands 3 East (North), Midlands 4 East (North) (formerly Midlands East 2) and relegated teams dropped to Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire 2. At the end of the 1999–00 season the Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire leagues were merged with the Leicestershire Rugby Union, Leicestershire leagues. Charlie Davies (rugby Player)
Charlie Davies (born 23 May 1990) is an English rugby union scrum half who played for the Dragons, having joined from Wasps ahead of the 2015-16 season. Davies began his professional career at Nottingham RFC in the RFU Championship, making his debut in the 2007–2008 season. In June 2009 he signed for French rugby giants Stade Français and made five first team appearances for the club in the Top 14. Whilst at Stade Français, Davies was also called up to the England U20 national side and made one substitute appearance for them during the 2010 U20 Six Nations. In May 2010 it was announced Davies had signed for Aviva Premiership side Wasps. Prince Alexander Sergeevich Obolensky KStJ (russian: Александр Серге́евич Оболенский; 17 February 1916 – 29 March 1940) was a Rurikid prince of Russian origin who became a naturalised Briton, having spent most of his life in England, and who went on to represent England in international rugby union. Peter Ross McMillan (born 2 June 1987) is a professional rugby union player. His position is hooker. McMillan has previously played professionally for Nottingham, Gloucester, Moseley, Coventry, Birmingham & Solihull, Northampton, Bristol and Leicester Tigers. Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire/Leicestershire 2 West was a tier 10 English Rugby Union league with teams from Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and the western region of Leicestershire taking part. Promoted teams moved up to Notts, Lincs & Derbyshire/Leicestershire 1 West and there was no relegation. Midlands 5 East (North) was a level 10 English Rugby Union league and level 5 of the Midlands League, made up of teams from the northern part of the East Midlands region including Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and the occasional team from Leicestershire, with home and away matches played throughout the season. Formed in 2006, the league was originally split into 2 regional divisions – Midlands 6 East (North-East) and Midlands 6 East (North-West) - but, by the 2009-10 season, the league merged into a single division. Promoted teams typically moved up to Midlands 4 East (North) and there is no relegation due to it being one of the basement divisions for Midlands rugby. Chesterfield is a market town and unparished area in the Borough of Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England, north of Derby and south of Sheffield at the confluence of the River Rother and River Hipper.
