Ches Crist
Chester Arthur Crist (February 10, 1882 – January 7, 1957), nicknamed "Squak", was a Major League Baseball catcher. He played in six games for the Philadelphia Phillies in , going 11 at bats without a hit. Crist grew was born into a farming family in Cozzaddale Ohio. When he was 6 his Father Elias passed away and the family relocated to a different part of Ohio. He held the record for his high schools 100m dash at one point. He was named after Chester A. Arthur Chester Alan Arthur (October 5, 1829 – November 18, 1886) was an American lawyer and politician who served as the 21st president of the United States from 1881 to 1885. Catcher is a Baseball positions, position in baseball and softball. When a Batter (baseball), batter takes their at bat, turn to hit, the catcher crouches behind home plate, in front of the (home plate, home) Umpire (baseball), umpire, and receives the ball from the pitcher. In addition to this primary duty, the catcher is also called upon to master many other skills in order to field the position well. The role of the catcher is similar to that of the wicket-keeper in cricket. Positioned behind home plate and facing toward the outfield, the catcher can see the whole field, and is therefore in the best position to direct and lead the other players in a defensive play.
