Chernivtsi Oblast Football Federation (CHOFF) is a football governing body in the region of Chernivtsi Oblast, Ukraine. It is unofficially known as the Football Federation of Bukovina. The federation is a collective member of the Football Federation of Ukraine. Chernivtsi Oblast
Chernivtsi Oblast ( uk, Черніве́цька о́бласть, Chernivetska oblast), also referred to as Chernivechchyna ( uk, Чернівеччина) is an oblast (province) in Western Ukraine, consisting of the northern parts of the regions of Bukovina and Bessarabia. It has an international border with Romania and Moldova. The oblast is the smallest in Ukraine by area and second smallest by population. Chernivtsi was part of Romania. In 1408, when it was a town in Moldavia and the chief centre of the area known as Bukovina. Chernivtsi later passed to the Turks and then in 1774 to Austria. After World War I it was ceded to Romania, and in 1940 the town was acquired by the Ukrainian SSR. Football Sports Club Bukovyna Chernivtsi is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Chernivtsi. History The club was established in 1958 as Avanhard Chernivtsi (Avangard Chernovtsy) for republican competitions and became the first club from Chernivtsi Oblast to be added to the Soviet Class B competition in 1960. Before 1958 Chernivtsi were presented several times by various teams in republican competitions like Burevisnyk (1956), Dynamo (1948, 1950–1955), Spartak (1946, 1947, 1949), Lokomotyv (1949). From 1992–94, Bukovyna played in the Ukrainian Premier League, after being initially chosen to participate for being one of the Ukrainian teams taking part in the Soviet First League in 1991. Brief overview FC Luzhany is a successor of some other Luzhany football teams that existed at least since after World War II in 1947 as Kolhospnyk Luzhany. FFU Council Of Regions
Regional football federations of Ukraine is associated members of Football Federation of Ukraine in regions of Ukraine. In 2000, Football Federation of Ukraine created Council of Regions for the development of football in the regions throughout the country. It was dissolved in 2010.
