Cheonjeyeon Waterfalls
Cheonjeyeon Waterfall is a three-tier waterfall located on Jeju Island. Cold water flows out of the ceiling of a cave to make the waterfall. Between the precipice of the waterfall and the lower clay layer, water springs out. In first cascade, the cliff is high and the water falls into Cheonjeyeon pond which is deep. From there, the water goes to the second waterfall and falls and continues to the third waterfall. Eventually, the water reaches the ocean. ''Cheonjeyeon'' means ''Pond of the Emperor of Heaven''. According to Korean legend, seven nymphs would descend from the heavens at night and bathe in the waterfall's pond. The falls are a popular tourist attraction on Jeju-do. The warm temperate forest around Cheonjeyeon Waterfall was designated Natural Monument No. 378 in 1993 because of the rare plants it contains and its value for scientific research. Seonimgyo Bridge
Seonim Bridge (선임교) is an arch bridge on Jeju-do, Jeju Island over Cheonjeyeon Waterfall that has seven nymphs carved on both sides. It crosses from east to west over the stream between the second and third tiers of Cheonjeyeon waterfall. The bridge is also called ''Chilseonyeogyo'' (''칠선녀교'') or ''Seven Nymphs Bridge''. The nymphs symbolize the Korean legend of the descent of seven beautiful nymphs from heaven at night. Seonimgyo Bridge is the first bridge with ''Ojakgyo'' (''오작교'') design in the region. It was completed in 1984, and cost the Korea Tourism Organization about 400 million South Korean won, won to construct. There is a fee for tourists who use the bridge. Jeongbang Waterfall
Jeongbang Waterfall is a famous waterfall on Jeju Island. The waterfall is high and is very close to the ocean. Depending on the level of recent rainfall, it can be up wide. The source of the waterfall is the stream Donghong-chun. Located near Seogwipo, Jeongbang Waterfall is a popular tourist attraction. It is considered ''Yeongjusipgeong'', one of the ten greatest scenic wonders of Jeju. Legend states that a holy dragon lived underneath it. It was said that the dragon's spirit is contained in the water which can cure diseases and bring rain during drought. Cheonjiyeon Waterfall
Cheonjiyeon Waterfall is a waterfall on Jeju-do, Jeju Island, South Korea. Literally, the name Cheonjiyeon means sky (Ch'eon) connected with landform, land (ji). It is one of the main tourist attractions on Jeju-do. It is high and wide. Though water always falls in one particular area, depending on the amount of recent rain, the water may spread out. At the bottom of the waterfall is an artificial pond that is deep. Two small dams help keep the water at a specific level. Large volcanic rocks form landbridges that allow tourists to pose for photographs in front of the falls. These falls are characterized by its trachyte andesite rocks. Psilotum Nudum
''Psilotum nudum'', the whisk fern, is a fernlike plant. Like the other species in the order Psilotales, it lacks roots. Its name, ''Psilotum nudum'', means "bare naked" in Latin, because it lacks (or seems to lack) most of the organs of typical vascular plants, as a result of evolutionary reduction. (Note that leaves are not actually absent, but greatly reduced.) Development The embryo has only two parts, a distal shoot apex and a proximal foot.
