Chennai Cheetahs (CCH) is a field hockey team based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, that plays in World Series Hockey. It is owned by Chennai Sports Organisers Private Limited (CSO). The team is captained by the Australian Brent Livermore and coached by the Spaniard Jose Brasa. The team's home ground is the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium. Ownership The team is owned by Chennai Sports Organisers (CSO), which is promoted by L.T. Nanwani, owner of Jubilee Granites. The financial details of the deal have not been disclosed but sources familiar with the deal reported that the franchise would invest 120-140 million each year for a period of 15 years. Brent Livermore
Brent James Livermore OAM (born 5 July 1976 in Grafton, New South Wales) is a field hockey midfielder from Australia. He was first selected in the Australian team in 1997, and was awarded the Kookaburras player of the year award in 2001. He was also nominated of the FIH Player of the Year awards in 2002 and 2005. He has played over 300 matches for the Australian team, and has scored 30 international goals. He plays for the NSW Waratahs in the Australian Hockey League. Brent Livermore won the gold medal with the Kooraburras at the 2004 Olympics, but was omitted from the 2008 Olympic squad that placed third in Beijing. In the World Series Hockey organized by the Indian Hockey Federation and Nimbus Sport, Brent Livermore captains the Chennai Cheetahs, a Chennai-based Hockey team. Chandigarh Comets (CCO) is hockey team based in Chandigarh, which is one of the eight teams that plays in World Series Hockey. Pakistani striker Rehan Butt is the captain of the team and Harendra Singh is the coach. Sector 42 Stadium is the home ground of Chandigarh Comets. Chandigarh Comets were at the top of the table in the league phase but ended up as the semi-finalists of the inaugural edition of WSH. PCMC Hockey Stadium also known as The Major Dhyanachand Stadium is a field hockey stadium in the city of Pune, India. It has a seating capacity of 5,000 people. It serves as the home ground of the hockey franchisee based in Pune Strykers, for World Series Hockey. History It was built in 1993, was the first polygrass stadium of the district. It costed 1.15 crore to build this stadium. Women's hockey matches of National Games which were held in 1993.
