Cheng Yu Tung
Cheng Yu-tung GBM (; 8 August 1925 – 29 September 2016) was a Hong Kong billionaire with extensive property investment, development and service businesses, hotels, infrastructure, jewellery retailing and transportation interests in Hong Kong, Macau, United States, Australia and other areas. He was considered to be Hong Kong's third richest man at the time of his death. Early life Cheng was born in rural Shunde District in Guangdong, the son of a tailor, and fled to Macau in 1940, ahead of the advancing Japanese occupation force. The goldsmith owner of the Chow Tai Fook store there took him on as an apprentice and he eventually married the boss's daughter. They moved to Hong Kong in 1946 and opened the company's first store there. Wong Po-yan
Wong Po-yan (, 5 May 1923 – 21 July 2019) was a Hong Kong industrialist and politician. He was the first chairman of Airport Authority Hong Kong from 1995 to 1999. Biography Wong Po-yan was born in and brought up in Hwei-An, Fujien, China and studied Chemistry at the National University of Amoy before he moved to Hong Kong. He became a successful industrialist with his plastic material company United Oversea Enterprises, Ltd. that he founded in 1958. In 1962, he was elected to the general committee of the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong (CMA). As the representative of the CMA, he was appointed as the member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Asia Television Limited (, also known as ATV) is a digital media and broadcasting company in Hong Kong. Established as the first television service in Hong Kong as Rediffusion Television () on 29 May 1957, it shifted to terrestrial television on 30 November 1973, and was renamed Asia Television on 24 September 1982. ATV operated two main over-the-air channels: the Cantonese-language ATV Home and the English-language ATV World. Deacon Chiu Te-ken, JP (; 1 May 1924 – 17 March 2015) was a Hong Kong entrepreneur. He founded Far East Bank and Far East Consortium and was formerly chairman of Asia Television (ATV). Life Chiu was born in Shanghai in 1924 and moved to Hong Kong in 1949. He made his first investment by opening a cinema in a rural area. In 1959, he collected deposits from farmers and opened a qianzhuang (native bank), Far East Bank. In 1962, he bought the Lai Chi Kok Amusement Park, a major zoo and theme park in the city at the time. He founded and became the chairman of the Far East Consortium in 1972, focusing on property development. Chow Chi-yuen (; 1900–1971) was a Hong Kong entrepreneur and the founder of Chow Tai Fook. He was the father-in-law of Cheng Yu-tung (鄭裕彤), chairman of New World Development, and was born in Shunde, Guangdong, China. Chow set up his first "Chow Tai Fook" shop in Guangzhou (Canton) in 1929 to sell traditional gold accessories. In 1931, the shop was relocated to Macau during the Second Sino-Japanese War.
