Chenaran County ( fa, شهرستان چناران) is in Razavi Khorasan province, Iran. The capital of the county is the city of Chenaran Chenaran ( fa, چناران; also Romanized as Čenārān, Chanārān, Chinārān, and Cenârân) is a city and capital of Chenaran County, in Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 41,735, in 10,179 families. Che ..., about 45 km west of the city of Mashhad. At the 2006 census, the county's population was 108,533 in 26,937 households. The following census in 2011 counted 125,601 people in 34,477 households. At the 2016 census, the county's population was 155,013 in 45,105 households. Golbajar District was separated from Chenaran County on 17 November 2019 to form Golbahar County. An agricultural county, Chenaran has been recently developing industries as well, especially in the industrial area of the city to the south. The common sport of the city is wrestling. Chenaran ( fa, چناران; also Romanized as Čenārān, Chanārān, Chinārān, and Cenârân) is a city and capital of Chenaran County, in Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran. Iran Standard Time (IRST) or Iran Time (IT) is the time zone used in Iran. Iran uses a UTC offset UTC+03:30. IRST is defined by the 52.5 degrees east meridian, the same meridian which defines the Iranian calendar and is the official meridian of Iran. Between 2005 and 2008, by decree of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran did not observe daylight saving time (DST) (called ''Iran Daylight Time'' or ''IRDT''). It was reintroduced from 21 March 2008. On 21 September 2022, Iran abolished DST and now observes standard time year-round. Daylight Saving Time transitions The dates of DST transitions in Iran were based on the Solar Hijri calendar, the official calendar of Iran, which is in turn based on the March equinox (Nowruz) as determined by astronomical calculation at the meridian for Iran Standard Time (52.5°E or GMT+3.5h).
