Chelsea Purcell
Chelsea Purcell (born May 24, 1987) is a former women's ice hockey player. Among her career accomplishments, she was the first captain in the history of the CWHL's Team Alberta franchise. In addition, she was the captain of the Canada women's national ball hockey team that won a gold medal at the 2015 ISBHF World Championships in Zug, Switzerland. Playing career CIS A member of the Saskatchewan Huskies women's ice hockey program in the Canada West conference (part of Canadian Interuniversity Sport), Purcell would serve as team captain in her final two seasons (2008–09, 2009–10). During her final season, Purcell would log a hat trick in a 5-0 victory against the Calgary Dinos, providing the Huskies with their third straight win to start the 2009-10 campaign. Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan
Hudson Bay is a town in east-central Saskatchewan, Canada, west of the Manitoba border. The town is surrounded by the Rural Municipality of Hudson Bay No. 394. History In 1757, a Hudson Bay Company fur trading post was established in the Hudson Bay District beside the Red Deer River. Ruins from the post have been found near the village of Erwood. In 1790, the North West Trading Company set up a trading post at the mouth of the Etomami River called Fort Red Deer River. Speculators think that a South Company's post was set up on the opposite mouth of the River, where there are remains of a second post unaccounted for. Over the years a settlement grew and, in July 1907, an application was made to erect Etomami as a village; Etomami was a native word that meant "a place that three rivers join." Brittany Ott
Brittany "The Otter" Ott (born June 12, 1990) is an American professional ice hockey player. , Ott plays for the New Hampshire region team in the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association. She previously played two seasons for the Boston Blades in the Canadian Women's Hockey League and four seasons with Boston Pride of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). Ott played college hockey for the Maine Black Bears before declaring herself into the 2013 CWHL Draft. She is the first goaltender to have won the Clarkson Cup and the Isobel Cup in a career. 2013–14 CWHL Season
The 2013–14 CWHL season was the seventh in league history. The Montreal Stars finished as regular season champions while the top four leading scorers in the regular season are all Stars players (Ann-Sophie Bettez, Sarah Vaillancourt, Vanessa Davidson and Cathy Chartrand). The Toronto Furies won the 2014 Clarkson Cup, making them the first team to finish in fourth place during the regular season to claim the Cup. The 2012–13 CWHL season (Canadian Women's Hockey League) was the league's sixth. The Boston Blades defeated the defending champions Montreal Stars at the 2013 Clarkson Cup, finals in Markham, Ontario. 2011–12 CWHL Season
The 2011–12 CWHL season was the fifth in league history. Regular season play begun on October 22, 2011, as the defending champion Montreal Stars hosted the Brampton Thunder. The league expanded from five teams to six as Team Alberta (CWHL) joined the league for competitive play. The 2012 Clarkson Cup in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Niagara Falls was also contested between the Stars and Thunder, with Montreal winning its second consecutive title. Jenny Brine
Jenny Brine is a former women’s ice hockey player. Having played at the NCAA level with the Harvard Crimson women's ice hockey program, she was also a member of the Toronto Furies from 2010-13. Brine would also appear with the Canada women's national ball hockey team at three ISBHF World Championships. Playing career CWHL During the 2012-13 CWHL season, Brine and her Furies teammates participated in the first regular season game to be contested in an NHL arena. Hosted at Toronto’s Air Canada Centre on November 17, 2012, the Furies competed against Team Alberta. During the second period, Brine would score a goal as Wakefield and Alexandra Hoffmeyer both gained assists.
