Cheilosia Albipila
''Cheilosia albipila'' is a European and Palearctic species of hoverfly. Like most ''Cheilosia'' it is black, and because of this may often be overlooked as a hoverfly. It is little recorded but probably widespread and common and maybe overlooked because adult flight periods are early in the year, before many hoverfly recorders are active. DescriptionExternal images
Wing length 8·75-10·75 mm. The wings are unclouded. The entire pubescence is long and reddish. The tergites have a purple sheen. The antennae are clear orange, the tip sometimes slightly darkened. The face of the male with the central prominence sometimes peculiarly depressed at middle. Female has yellow femora and tarsi. The larva is illustrated by Rotheray (1993)

Karl Ludwig Friedrich von Roser (1787–1861) was a German entomologist who specialised in Diptera. His main career was as a high ranking government official and administrator in the Kingdom of Württemberg. Born in Vaihingen an der Enz, where his father held the position of ''Oberamtmann'', Roser was educated at a gymnasium in Stuttgart and at the University of Tübingen. As an entomologist, he described many new Diptera species in his ''Erster Nachtrag zu dem im Jahre 1834 bekannt gemachten Verzeichnisse in Württtemberg vorkommender zweiflügliger Insekten'' (1840). Johan Wilhelm Zetterstedt
Johan Wilhelm Zetterstedt (20 May 1785 – 23 December 1874) was a Swedish naturalist who worked mainly on Diptera and Hymenoptera. Biography Zetterstedt studied at the University of Lund, where he was a pupil of Anders Jahan Retzius. He received the title of professor in 1822 and succeeded Carl Adolph Agardh as professor of botany and practical economy in 1836, retiring as emeritus in 1853. In 1831, he was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. He is best known as an entomologist. His collections of Scandinavian, Lapland and world Diptera and Orthoptera are in the Zoological Museum of the University of Lund. His students include Anders Gustaf Dahlbom.
