Cheers (TV Series)
''Cheers'' is an American sitcom television series that ran on NBC from September 30, 1982, to May 20, 1993, with a total of 275 half-hour episodes across 11 seasons. The show was produced by Charles/Burrows/Charles Productions in association with Paramount Network Television, and was created by the team of James Burrows and Glen and Les Charles. The show is set in a bar and namesake Cheers in Boston, where a group of locals in the city meet to drink, relax and socialize. At the center of the show was the bar's owner and head bartender, Sam Malone, who was a womanizing former relief pitcher for the Boston Red Sox. The show's ensemble cast introduced in the pilot episode were waitresses Diane Chambers and Carla Tortelli, second bartender Coach Ernie Pantusso, and regular customers Norm Peterson and Cliff Clavin. Glen And Les Charles
Glen Gerald Charles (born February 18, 1943) and Les Charles (born March 25, 1948) are American screenwriters and television producers, best known for ''Taxi'' and '' Cheers''. Early life and careers The Charles brothers attended University of Redlands. Glen graduated in 1965, and Les graduated in 1971. Glen began his professional life as an advertising copywriter but moved into television. Both Glen and Les began their television careers together as writers for ''M*A*S*H''. They later wrote for ''The Mary Tyler Moore Show'', ''Phyllis'' and ''The Bob Newhart Show'', and were head writers and producers on the TV series ''Taxi''. They then formed the Charles-Burrows-Charles production company with James Burrows, and created and produced the television series '' Cheers''. The brothers also co-wrote the screenplay for the 1999 film ''Pushing Tin''. Both were credited in every episode of ''Frasier'' as the creators of the "Frasier Crane" character from ''Cheers.'' Phoef Sutton
Robert Christopher "Phoef" Sutton (born September 11, 1958) is an American writer and producer. His film credits include ''Mrs. Winterbourne'' and '' The Fan'', both released in 1996. Phoef — the first name that he uses both personally and professionally — is pronounced "feef", and was a childhood nickname given to him in infancy by his brothers. Sutton was born in Washington, D.C. and grew up in Virginia. A 1981 graduate of James Madison University, he began his career writing scripts for ''Newhart''. He later became a writer for and executive producer of ''Cheers''. He collaborated with Bob Newhart again on the 1992 TV series ''Bob'' and worked as a creative consultant on 1990s TV series ''Almost Perfect'' and ''NewsRadio''. With Mark Jordan Legan he wrote and produced the cult comedy series ''Thanks'' about the Pilgrims' first years in America and co-wrote a 2017 episode of ''Kevin Can Wait''. Cheers Beacon Hill is a bar/restaurant located on Beacon Street in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, across from the Boston Public Garden. Founded in 1969 as the Bull & Finch Pub, the bar is best remembered internationally as the exterior of the bar seen in the hit NBC sitcom ''Cheers'', which ran between 1982 and 1993. History The show used the Bull & Finch as the inspiration for the hit TV show and exterior for the series, establishing shots of the namesake bar Cheers. A slightly modernized replica of the set bar has been built on the ground floor. ''Cheers'' is the Spanish version of the popular 1980s American sitcom of same name created by Cyrus James Garcia Andres. It was produced by Plural Entertainment and Tom Collins and broadcast by Telecinco. It was first aired on 11 September 2011, and follows the same theme as its American counterpart. Production On April, the 25th, 2011, Telecinco unveiled the names of the main actors for the new sitcom, Antonio Resines and Alexandra Jiménez. Resines would be Frasier Crane and Jiménez would be Rebecca Howe. Three days later, both producing companies, Plural Entertainment and Tom Collins Productions, started filming the pilot episode. On July the 28th, 2011, Mediaset Spain presented on a press conference the remake of ''Cheers'' with the future main cast members of the series, among them Alberto San Juan. ''Wings'' is an American sitcom television series that ran for eight seasons on NBC from April 19, 1990, to May 21, 1997 for a total of 172 episodes. The show is set at the fictional "Tom Nevers Field" airport, a small two-airline airport in Nantucket, Massachusetts (not to be confused with the actual Nantucket Memorial Airport), where the Hackett brothers operate Sandpiper Air, their single-plane airline. The majority of the episodes are set in the airport. Tim Daly and Steven Weber starred as brothers and pilots, Joe and Brian Hackett.
