Cheating Panorama
''Cheating in Panorama'' () is a 1972 Hong Kong comedy film directed by Li Han-hsiang. The film has a theme of duplicity. Film critic Ain-ling Wong classified ''Cheating in Panorama'' as having what Chan Koonchung would describe as "slovenly aesthetics" that is of "the crude and vulgar variety". Li Han-hsiang
Richard Li Han-hsiang (; 7 March 1926 in Huludao, Jinxi, Liaoning – 17 December 1996 in Beijing) was a Chinese film director. Li directed more than 70 films in his career beginning in the 1950s and lasting till the 1990s. His ''The Enchanting Shadow'', ''The Magnificent Concubine'', and ''Empress Wu Tse-Tien (1963 film), Empress Wu Tse-Tien'' were entered into the Cannes Film Festival in 1960, 1962, and 1963 respectively. Li also won the Golden Horse Film Festival and Awards for his work on the movie ''Xi Shi'' in 1965. Most of his movies in the 1970s and 1980s were Chinese historical dramas. Alan Tang
Alan Tang Kwong-Wing (20 September 194629 March 2011) was a Hong Kong film actor, producer and director. Early life Tang was born in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China. He was the youngest of four children, having two older brothers and one older sister. His secondary education was at the New Method College. After graduation, he received a full scholarship to the University of Hong Kong Law School. He deferred his acceptance to pursue an acting career. Career His first starring role was at age 16 in the 1963 film ''The Student Prince'', a role he landed after some school friends showed his picture to the people making a movie at their secondary school. His role in this early movie earned him the nickname of "The Student Prince." Upon graduation from secondary school, Tang acted in Hong Kong youth films starring Josephine Siao, Chen Chen, and Connie Chan Po-chu throughout the 1960s. The Hong Kong Movie Database (HKMDB) is a bilingual (English and Chinese) website started in 1995 by Hong Kong resident Ryan Law to provide a repository for information about movies originating from Hong Kong and the people who created them. The database was initially populated with data on over 6000 films, and reviews from the defunct database hosted at egret0.stanford.edu. In subsequent years it has expanded to contain information on more than 20,000 films and nearly 100,000 people, and includes films from Taiwan and China. Hong Kong Cinemagic, sometimes referred to as HKCinemagic, is a bilingual ( French and English) website providing a repository for information about Chinese language films from Hong Kong, China and Taiwan, and the people who created them. The website contains news, interviews, film reviews and a database of people, films and film studios as well as an illustrated glossary of terms. The web magazine has existed in various forms for over a decade. As of March 2009, the database contains over 10,000 films. Jenny Hu (Chinese: 胡燕妮 wu yin ne/hu yian ni; born 17 November 1945), is a Hong Kong actress of Chinese and German origin best known for her leads in Shaw Brothers productions throughout the 1960s and early 1970s. Early life Hu was born in Guangdong, China to a Chinese father and German mother. After her father's death, she moved to Germany from Taipei until she finished high school. Roy Chiao Hung
Roy Chiao (16 March 1927 – 15 April 1999) was a Hong Kong actor, most notable in the United States for playing the minor villain Lao Che in the 1984 movie ''Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom''. Biography Chiao was born in Shanghai in 1927. His father was a supporter of Sun Yat-sen and was part of the Chinese Revolution. During the Korean War, Chiao went to Taiwan. He joined the United States Army at some stage, and with him being fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, Shanghainese, and English, he was a broadcaster and interpreter for the army. Chiang Nan (actor)
Henry Liu (; 7 December 1932 – 15 October 1984), often known by his pen name Chiang Nan (), was a Taiwanese-American writer and journalist. He was a vocal critic of the Kuomintang (Chinese Nationalist Party), then the single ruling party of the Republic of China in Taiwan, and was most famous for writing an unauthorized biography of Chiang Ching-kuo, then president of the Republic of China. He later became a naturalized citizen of the United States, and resided in Daly City, California, where he was assassinated by Bamboo Union members who had been reportedly trained by the Kuomintang's military intelligence division. Charlie Chin
Charlie Chin Hsiang-lin (; born May 19, 1948) is a Taiwanese actor. Background Born in Nanjing, China in 1948, he first had his break when he moved to Hong Kong with his family at an early age. At only 12 years of age Charlie moved to Taiwan to join Fuxing Opera School, a Peking opera school. At the age of 20 he moved back to Hong Kong to join Cathay Organisation. His movie debut came in the film '' Xia Ri Chu Lian'', literally translating to "The First Love In Summer". With Brigitte Lin, Joan Lin and Chin Han, the four eventually became known as the "Two Chins, Two Lins" () which became iconic of 1970s romance films in China. The names became a guarantee of box office success, and so Charlie was constantly paired with one of the '2 Lins'. Charlie won 2 Golden Horse Awards and in 2000 he also presented one in Taiwan.
