Chase Page
Chase Frederick Page (born May 20, 1983) is a former American football defensive tackle who last played for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League. He was originally drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the seventh round (225th overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft. He played collegiately at North Carolina. High school career Page attended Summerville High School in Summerville, South Carolina during his senior season after transferring from Wando High School in Charleston and Tuckahoe Middle School in Richmond, Virginia. He did not play football until his sophomore season. As a senior, he helped lead Summerville to an 11–2 record and a berth in the state playoffs. He started the season at tight end and moved to offensive tackle early in the season. He also played defensive tackle. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach.
