Salvelinus
''Salvelinus'' is a genus of Salmonidae, salmonid fish often called char or charr; some species are called "trout". ''Salvelinus'' is a member of the subfamily Salmoninae within the family Salmonidae. The genus has a northern circumpolar distribution, and most of its members are typically cold-water fish that primarily inhabit fresh waters. Many species also migrate to the sea. Most char may be identified by light-cream, pink, or red spots over a darker body. Scales tend to be small, with 115-200 along the lateral line. The pectoral, pelvic, anal, and the lower aspect of caudal fins are trimmed in snow white or cream leading edges. Many members of this genus are popular sport fish, and a few, such as lake trout (''S. namaycush'') and arctic char (''S. alpinus'') are objects of commercial fisheries and/or aquaculture. Henri Charr
Henri Charr, also credited as H. Charr, is an Assyrian filmmaker born in Iran and living in Southern California. He started in educational films and documentaries, then turned to mainstream cinema in genres including thrillers, drams, action-adventure, family films and comedies. In the early 1990s Charr made a trilogy of action films: Under Lock and Key, Caged Hearts and Cell Block Sisters. In the mid-1990s Char made family films; My Uncle: The Alien was a Selection at the Brussels International Festival of Fantasy, Thriller and Science Fiction Films. He then made Little Heroes, a children's film televised on Animal Planet as the "Movie of the Month". In 2002 Charr produced and directed the Action-Adventure Disaster film Wildfire. Mahmoud Omeirat Charr ( ar, محمود عميرات شعار), previously known as Manuel Charr, is a German professional boxer who held the WBA (Regular) heavyweight title from 2017 to 2021, and challenged for the WBC heavyweight title in 2012. Charr has a knockout-to-win percentage of 58%. Early life Mahmoud started his martial arts career with Thai boxing at the age of 17. Two years later he became the youngest ever German Champion in Muay Thai. In 2005 he became the German Champion and the European Champion in Thai-Boxing at the age of 19. Due to his track record in Thai-Boxing, in 2000 Mahmoud was invited to a training camp for professional boxers at the famous Max Schmeling Gym in Berlin. USS ''Charr'' (SS/AGSS-328), a ''Balao''-class submarine, was a ship of the United States Navy named for the charr. Construction and commissioning Originally named ''Bocaccio'', SS-328 was renamed ''Charr'' on 24 September 1942 and launched 28 May 1944 by Electric Boat Company, Groton, Connecticut, sponsored by Mrs. W. F. Orkney; and commissioned 23 September 1944. First war patrol, December 1944 – March 1945 Pacific-bound, ''Charr'' cleared New London 5 November 1944, and reached Pearl Harbor 9 December.
