Charoenchai Sundaravadin
Charoenchai Sundaravadin ( th, เจริญใจ สุนทรวาทิน, ; 16 September 1915 – 10 April 2011) was an expert singer and musician of Thai classical music. She was born into a noble musician family, and learned the art from her father Phraya Sanoduriyang. She was a musician in the royal court of Queen Rambai Barni, and became a school teacher following the abolition of absolute monarchy in 1932. She left the civil service during World War II, and later became a lecturer at Chulalongkorn University. The music of Thailand reflects its geographic position at the intersection of China and India, and reflects trade routes that have historically included Africa, Greece and Rome. Queen Rambai Barni ( th, รำไพพรรณี, , ), formerly Princess Rambai Barni Svastivatana ( th, รำไพพรรณี สวัสดิวัตน์, ; born 20 December 1904 – 22 May 1984), was the wife and queen consort of King Prajadhipok of Siam. Early life Princess Rambai Barni Svastivatana was born on 20 December 1904, to Prince Svasti Sobhana, the Prince of Svastivatana Visishta (a son of HM King Mongkut and Princess Piyamawadi) and Princess Abha Barni Gaganang.
