Charlton Park Rugby Football Club
Charlton Park Rugby Football Club, based at Broad Walk in Kidbrooke, are one of south east London's most prominent rugby union clubs. Founded in 1893, the club plays in red and white hoops. Despite appearing in many finals (the first in 1906), Charlton Park have never won the Kent Cup. The club's greatest success saw promotion to National League Three South alongside established national league sides such as Weston Super Mare, Newbury R.F.C., Plymouth Albion and Worcester Rugby (who have since spent several seasons in the Aviva Premiership) in 1996. The first XV were promoted to London 1 South following promotion in 2014 and relegated after two seasons there. The club runs five senior sides (including a veterans' team), and have an increasingly strong junior set up. Kent Rugby Football Union
The Kent Rugby Football Union is the governing body for the sport of rugby union in the county of Kent in England. The union is the constituent body of the Rugby Football Union (RFU) for Kent, and administers and organises rugby union clubs and competitions in the county. Premiership Rugby, officially known as Gallagher Premiership Rugby, or the Gallagher Premiership for sponsorship reasons, is an English professional rugby union competition. The Premiership has consisted of thirteen clubs since 2021, and is the top division of the English rugby union system. Premiership clubs qualify for Europe's two main club competitions, the European Rugby Champions Cup and the European Rugby Challenge Cup. Kent Plate
The Kent Plate is an annual rugby union knock-out club competition organised by the Kent Rugby Football Union. It was first introduced during the 2001–02 season, with the inaugural winners being Bromley. It is the fourth most important rugby union cup competition in Kent, behind the Kent Cup, Kent Shield and Kent Vase, but ahead of the Kent Salver. The Kent Plate is currently open to the first teams of club sides based in Kent that have been knocked out of the first round of the Kent Cup and Kent Shield. The format is a knockout cup with a first round, semi-finals and a final, typically to be held at a pre-determined ground at the end of April on the same date and venue as the Cup, Shield, Vase and Salver finals. Kent 1 (known as Shepherd Neame Kent 1 for sponsorship reasons) is an English level 9 Rugby Union League and is made up of teams predominantly from south-east London and Kent. The teams play home and away matches from September through to April. The league champions move up to London 3 South East while the runners up play against the runners up of Sussex 1 for the remaining place. Relegated teams drop down to Kent 2. Each year some of the clubs in this division also take part in the RFU Junior Vase - a level 9-12 national competition. London 1 South was an English level 6 rugby union regional league for rugby clubs in London and the south-east of England including sides from East Sussex, south Essex, south Greater London, Hampshire, Kent, Surrey and West Sussex. When this division began in 1987 it was known as London 2 South, changing to its current name ahead of the 2009–10 season. It was the feeder league for London & South East Premier into which the champion team each season is promoted. The second-placed team entered a play-off against the runner-up of London 1 North. Three teams were relegated into a mixture of London 2 South East and London 2 South West. Worcester Warriors Rugby Football Club is a professional rugby union club, based in Worcester, England, that is currently in administration and which has been suspended and will be relegated from Premiership Rugby, the top division of domestic rugby. Kidbrooke is an area of South East London, England, in the Royal Borough of Greenwich south-east of Charing Cross and north west of Eltham.
