Charles Young is a fictional character played by Dulé Hill on the television serial drama ''The West Wing''. For the majority of the series, he is the Personal Aide to President Josiah Bartlet. Creation and development The character of Charlie Young was originally to appear in the pilot, with a draft dated February 6, 1998, describing him as a "fresh-faced" 19-year-old who is taking a year off from Georgetown University to work as the President's personal aide. The character was written out of later drafts, and was not introduced in the show until ''The West Wing''s third episode after the all-Caucasian main cast came under criticism from the NAACP.Topping, Keith (2002). Charles Herbert Lockyer Young (7 December 1877 – 22 February 1914) was an Australian rules footballer who played the Melbourne Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He became one of the club's first premiership players, playing in the 1900 VFL Grand Final, under the captaincy of Dick Wardill. Charlie Yeung Choi-Nei (born 23 May 1974), is a Hong Kong actress. She was first noticed after appearing in a commercial with Aaron Kwok. Since then she has participated in the music videos of artists such as Hacken Lee, Jacky Cheung and made a number of films, most famously with Tsui Hark (''The Lovers'', ''Love in the Time of Twilight'', ''Seven Swords'') and Wong Kar-wai. Charles Lee Young (born October 13, 1952) is a former American football running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the Dallas Cowboys. He was drafted in the first round (22nd overall) of the 1974 NFL Draft. He played college football at North Carolina State University. Early years Following a standout high school sports career at William G. Enloe High School, in 1970, Young and Willie Burden became the first African-Americans recruited to the North Carolina State University football team. He also was a part of the track team. As a sophomore in 1971, he was second on the team behind Burden with 85 carries for 385 yards (4.5-yard avg.) and 2 rushing touchdowns. Charle Edward Young (born February 5, 1951) is a former American football tight end who played for 13 seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for the Philadelphia Eagles (1973–1976), the Los Angeles Rams (1977–1979), the San Francisco 49ers (1980–1982), and the Seattle Seahawks (1983–1985).
