Charlie Sitton
Charles E. Sitton (born July 3, 1962) is an American retired basketball player. He played one season in the National Basketball Association (NBA) with the Dallas Mavericks, who selected him in the second round of the 1984 NBA draft. He went on to play in Europe. Sitton played college basketball for the Oregon State Beavers. He was a three-time all-conference selection in the Pacific-10 (now known as the Pac-12) and was an All-American as a senior. He helped lead the Beavers to three NCAA tournament appearances. Oregon State career A 6' 8" forward, he played high school basketball at McMinnville High School and college basketball for Oregon State from 1981 to 1984. As a freshman, Sitton was a member of the last Oregon State team to achieve a number 1 ranking in 1981. 1984 NBA Draft
The 1984 NBA draft was the 37th annual draft of the National Basketball Association (NBA). It was held at the Felt Forum at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, on June 19, 1984, before the 1984–85 season. The draft is generally considered to be one of the greatest in NBA history, with four Hall of Famers being drafted in the first sixteen picks and five overall. National Invitational Tournament
The National Invitational Tournament (NIT) is a men's college basketball tournament operated by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Played at regional sites and traditionally at Madison Square Garden (Final Four) in New York City each March and April, it was founded in 1938 and was originally the most prestigious post-season showcase for college basketball. The 2021 tournament, in which all games were played in Denton and Frisco, Texas, marked the first time that the NIT's semifinals and championship games were not hosted at Madison Square Garden; MSG won't play host to the games entirely starting in 2023. List Of All-Pacific-12 Conference Men's Basketball Teams
The All-Pac-12 men's basketball team is an annual Pac-12 Conference honor bestowed on the best players in the conference following every college basketball season. Pac-12 coaches select a 10-player first team and a five-player second team. There were two five-man teams from 1956 though 1979, followed by one 10-man first team from 1980 through 2008. For one year in 2008, there were three five-man teams selected. During the final week of the regular season, Pac-12 coaches nominate up to three players from their team to be placed on the ballot for consideration. Coaches submit their votes by the Sunday after the season ends and cannot vote for their own players. Previously, a player needed to be selected on 50 percent of the ballots to be on the team. The Oregon State Beavers are the athletic teams that represent Oregon State University, located in Corvallis, Oregon. In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. The three main positions are guard, forward, and center, with the standard team featuring two guards, two forwards, and a center.
