Charlie Nicklas
Charles Nicklas (26 April 1930 – 26 July 2018) was an English association football, footballer who played as a centre forward in the English Football League, Football League for Hull City A.F.C., Hull City and Darlington F.C., Darlington. Before joining Hull, Nicklas played non-league football for Silksworth Colliery Welfare F.C., Silksworth Colliery Welfare, and after leaving Darlington he played in the Southern Football League, Southern League for Oxford United F.C., Headington United. Life and career Nicklas was born in 1930 in Sunderland, which was then in County Durham. He played as a wing half before what the ''Sunderland Echo'' described as a promising career was interrupted by Conscription in the United Kingdom#After 1945, National Service in the Royal Air Force. Sunderland () is a port city in Tyne and Wear, England. It is the City of Sunderland's administrative centre and in the Historic counties of England, historic county of County of Durham, Durham. Headington United
Oxford United Football Club is a professional football club in the city of Oxford, England. The team plays in League One, the third tier of the English football league system. The chairman is Grant Ferguson, the manager is Karl Robinson and the team captain is Elliott Moore. The club was founded on 27 October 1893 as Headington Football Club. Headington merged with local rivals Headington Quarry on 25 July 1911 and was renamed Headington United. Oxford United adopted its current name in 1960.
