Charlie Hughes (audio Engineer)
Charles Emory Hughes II (born February 13, 1965) is an American inventor and audio engineer. He is known for his work on loudspeaker design, and the measurement of professional audio sound systems. Hughes first worked for Peavey Electronics designing loudspeakers and horns where he was granted a patent for the Quadratic-Throat Waveguide horn used in concert loudspeakers. He worked for Altec Lansing for two years as chief engineer for the pro audio division and was granted two more patents. In 2021, Hughes was hired by Biamp as principal engineer. Hughes designs loudspeakers and performs contract engineering for Excelsior Audio as co-owner. He is an expert consultant in audio measurement and analysis software and systems. He has led committees in prominent standards organizations to develop technical standards for the measurement, modeling and production of audio equipment. Charles Hughes (February 27, 1822 – August 10, 1887) was an American lawyer and politician from New York. He served one term in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1853 to 1855. Biography Hughes was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He studied law, was admitted to the bar, and commenced practice in Sandy Hill. Congress He was elected as a Democrat to the 33rd United States Congress, holding office from March 4, 1853, to March 3, 1855. Later career Hughes was Clerk of the New York Court of Appeals from 1860 to 1862, elected at the 1859 New York state election, on the Republican and American tickets, but defeated for re-election at the 1862 New York state election on the Union ticket. Charles Roger Hughes (born 16 October 2003) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back for Wigan Athletic. Career Hughes is a youth product of Manchester City and Liverpool, and moved to the youth academy of Wigan Athletic in 2017 as a U14. He was captain of their U18 side in the 2021-22 season. Charles Frederick Hughes (14 October 1866 – 28 May 1934) was an admiral in the United States Navy who served as Chief of Naval Operations from 1927 to 1930. Early life Born in Bath, Maine, Hughes was appointed to the United States Naval Academy in 1884. Upon graduation on 8 June 1888, he went to the Fleet for the customary two years at sea preceding a commission as an ensign. He received that commission on 1 July 1890, and was promoted to lieutenant (junior grade) on 27 April 1898. Naval career During the Spanish–American War, Hughes fought in Commodore George Dewey's Asiatic Squadron. He was promoted to lieutenant on 3 March 1899. Charles Hughes was the director of coaching for the Football Association. He authored the FA's official coaching manual and was an early developer of long ball tactics. Coaching Charles Hughes began his coaching career with the England national amateur football team and Great Britain and Northern Ireland Olympic football team between 1964-74 winning 48 matches out of 77. Charles Hughes began football coaching in 1964 by being assistant coach to Allen Wade, he used the experience he gained from studying for a degree in physical education at Loughborough University.
