Charlie Edwards (boxer)
Charlie Edwards (born 8 February 1993) is a British professional boxer. He held the WBC flyweight title from 2018 to 2019, and once challenged for the IBF flyweight title in 2016. At regional level, he held the British super-flyweight title in 2017. As of June 2020, Edwards is ranked as the world's fifth best active flyweight by BoxRec, fifth by the Transnational Boxing Rankings Board and fifth by ''The Ring''. He is the older brother of boxer Sunny Edwards. Early life Edwards was born on 8 February 1993, in Sutton. He started boxing at the age of 11 as a means to lose weight and it was apparent early on that there existed a bright path for him within the sport if pursued with true commitment . British Boxing Board Of Control
The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) is the governing body of professional boxing in the United Kingdom. History The British Boxing Board of Control was formed in 1929 from the old National Sporting Club and is headquartered in Cardiff. Until 1948, it had a colour bar in effect by means of its Rule 24, which stated that title contestants "must have two white parents". The British Boxing Board of Control initially refused to grant Jane Couch a professional licence on the sole ground that she was a woman, and argued that PMS made women too unstable to box. Julio Cesar Martinez Aguilar (born 27 January 1995) is a Mexican professional boxer. He has held the World Boxing Council, WBC flyweight title since 2019. Cristofer Jordan Rosales González (born 6 October 1994) is a Nicaraguan professional boxer who held the WBC flyweight title in 2018. Professional career Rosales turned professional in 2013 and had a record 26–3 before challenging Japanese boxer Daigo Higa for the vacant WBC flyweight title. During the weigh-in for the fight Higa missed weight and the title became vacant with only Rosales eligible to win it. In the fight itself Rosales would go on to stop Higa in the ninth round to capture the vacant WBC title. In his first title defence, Rosales defeated two-time Olympic bronze medalist Paddy Barnes. A knockout (abbreviated to KO or K.O.) is a fight-ending, winning criterion in several full-contact combat sports, such as boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, mixed martial arts, karate, some forms of taekwondo and other sports involving striking, as well as fighting-based video games. Sugar Ray Leonard
Ray Charles Leonard (born May 17, 1956), best known as "Sugar" Ray Leonard, is an American former professional boxer, motivational speaker, and occasional actor. Often regarded as one of the greatest boxers of all time, he competed professionally between 1977 and 1997, winning world titles in five weight classes; the lineal championship in three weight classes; as well as the undisputed welterweight championship.
