Charlie Chan's Courage
''Charlie Chan's Courage'' (1934) is the fifth film in which Warner Oland played detective Charlie Chan. It is a remake of the 1927 silent film ''The Chinese Parrot,'' based upon the novel by Earl Derr Biggers''.'' Both are considered lost films. An audio recreation accompanied by still photographs from the original film is included as a special feature on some DVD collections. Plot Chan is hired to transport a pearl necklace. DeWitt Clarke Jennings (June 21, 1871 – March 1, 1937) was an American film and stage actor. He appeared in 17 Broadway theatre, Broadway plays between 1906 and 1920, and in more than 150 films between 1915 and 1937. Biography He was born in Cameron, Missouri on June 21, 1871 to Georgia S. and Oliver A. Jennings. In 1935, Jennings played Sailing Master Fryer in ''Mutiny on the Bounty (1935 film), Mutiny on the Bounty'' with Clark Gable and Charles Laughton. He died in Hollywood, California on March 1, 1937.
