Charlie Anderson (Australian Footballer)
Charles Victor Roddan Anderson (19 August 1903 – 31 January 1985) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton, South Melbourne, Richmond and Footscray in the Victorian Football League (VFL). In a five-season career, Anderson played with four clubs. The Gippsland recruit made his only appearance for Carlton in the opening round of the 1924 VFL season. Rosedale, Victoria
Rosedale is a pastoral and agricultural town 184 kilometres east of Melbourne via the Princes Highway. It is situated on the southern side of the LaTrobe River. Once a staging post on the Port Albert to Sale and Port Albert to Walhalla coach runs, it was the administrative centre of the Shire of Rosedale which extended to the east and included the Ninety Mile Beach. It is now part of the Wellington Shire centred in Sale. At the , Rosedale had a population of 1,077. Prahran (), also pronounced colloquially as Pran, is an inner suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 5 km south-east of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Stonnington local government area. Prahran recorded a population of 12,203 at the 2021 census. Prahran is a part of Greater Melbourne, with many shops, restaurants and cafes. The Richmond Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers, is an Australian rules football team playing in the Australian Football League (AFL). Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. 1924 VFL Season
The 1924 VFL season was the 28th season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season featured nine clubs, ran from 26 April until 27 September, and comprised a 16-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top four clubs. The premiership was won by the Essendon Football Club for the sixth time and second time consecutively, after it won the round-robin finals series which was held in this season only. It is the last time a VFL/AFL premiership was not decided by a Grand Final.
