Charlie Allan (journalist)
Charlie Allan (born 9 July 1958, Aberdeen) is a Scottish sports editor and author. He was the editor of the Aberdeen ''Evening Express'' and main sports writer for the newspaper. Career Allan has worked for the ''Evening Express'' since 1990 and was named British Telecom Scottish Sports Writer of the year in 1999. He reported on the 1998 World Cup finals and 1992 and 1996 European Championship finals. He retired in 2018. Allan is a volunteer at Aberdeen charity, Grampian Hospital Radio, where he presents the breakfast show each weekday. In 2017 at the age of 57 Allan retired as a writer for the ''Evening Express''.' Charlie Allan (musician)
Charlie Allan (born 27 February 1963) is a Scottish actor and musician. He is the Chief Executive of The Clanranald Trust for Scotland, a recognized non-profit organization in Scotland, which would spread and revive primarily Scottish culture and Scottish heritage through entertainment and education. For this purpose, a replica of a medieval Scottish village named Duncarron has been constructed. He is the founder of the Scottish band Saor Patrol. He is the Chief of Combat International and the Scottish Federation of Medieval Martial Arts (SFMMA), Combat International and the SFMMA are parts of The Clanranald Trust for Scotland. He played small roles in films such as '' Gladiator'' and ''Robin Hood''. Since making ''Gladiator'' he is friends with Russell Crowe, who supports him in his Duncarron project. Charles Edward Allan (7 January 1908 – 1947) was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League as a full back for Darlington and Northampton Town. Life and career Allan was born in 1908 in Darlington, County Durham, to Charles Edward Wheatland Allan, a bricklayer, and his wife, Meggie ''née'' Chipchase. He had an older sister, Laura, and a younger brother, John. Allan joined his home-town club, Darlington of the Third Division North, from minor football in the area. He made his club and Football League debut on 16 April 1932, coming in to play the last three matches at left back, normally occupied by Herbert Brown. He moved on to Third Division South club Northampton Town.
