Charlie Adams (American Football)
Charlie Adams (born October 23, 1979) is a former American football wide receiver in the National Football League. Early years Charlie Adams was a standout in football and track & field at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. He went on to Hofstra University where set records as the all-time leading receiver in school history, records previously held by Wayne Chrebet and Steven Jackson. New Orleans Saints Marques Colston (who is also from Central Pennsylvania) is the latest to hold the all-time yards record at Hofstra. Professional career Adams was signed as a college free agent in 2003 by the Denver Broncos. He beat out Jerry Rice for the last Wideout position. Jerry Lee Rice (born October 13, 1962) is an American former professional football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 20 seasons. Known primarily as a member of the San Francisco 49ers, winning three championships, he then had two shorter stints at the end of career with the Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks. Marques E. Colston ( born June 5, 1983) is a former American football wide receiver. He played college football at Hofstra University, and was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL Draft. He helped the Saints achieve victory in Super Bowl XLIV with seven receptions for 83 yards against the Indianapolis Colts. He is the Saints' all-time franchise leader in receiving yards, yards from scrimmage, receiving touchdowns, total touchdowns, and total receptions.
