Charlevoix Biosphere Reserve
The Charlevoix Biosphere Reserve is part of the Man and the Biosphere Program of the UNESCO. It is managed by the Charlevoix Biosphere Reserve Corporation. In Canada, the Canadian Commission for UNESCO deals with reservations. In addition, there is also the Canadian Association of Biosphere Reservesé Canada currently has 19 biosphere reserves. The Charlevoix Biosphere Reserve is one of four Quebec reserves in the UNESCO Canadian biosphere reserve network. History Territory It covers the territory of the Charlevoix impact structure. It is found in the administrative boundaries of the Capitale-Nationale region and in the MRCs of Charlevoix Regional County Municipality and Charlevoix-Est. Baie-Saint-Paul
Baie-Saint-Paul ( 2011 Population 7,332; UA population 4,535) is a city in the Province of Quebec, Canada, on the northern shore of the Saint Lawrence River. Baie-Saint-Paul is the seat of Charlevoix Regional County Municipality. The city is situated at the mouth of the Gouffre River. It is known for its art galleries, shops and restaurants. The place gained some prominence in the 1770s when Doctor Philippe-Louis-François Badelard named a disease he was researching the "Baie-Saint-Paul maladie". This illness was the subject of one of the first medical publications done in Lower Canada. It is also where Cirque du Soleil originated back in the early 1980s and the location of the first show using the name Cirque du Soleil during "La Fete Foraine de Baie-Saint-Paul" in 1984. A visitor in the early 1800s noticed mineral springs and mineral resources in the area. Rivière Du Gouffre
The rivière du Gouffre (''English: Pit Cave River'') is a tributary of the left bank of the Saint-Laurent river, flowing into the Capitale-Nationale administrative region, Quebec (Canada). Saint-Hilarion, Quebec
Saint-Hilarion is a parish municipality in Charlevoix Regional County Municipality, in the administrative region of Capitale-Nationale of the province of Quebec, in Canada. Petite-Rivière-Saint-François is a municipality in Quebec, Canada, along the Saint Lawrence River. It is considered the gateway to the Charlevoix region. It is named after the Petite rivière Saint-François, and home to Le Massif ski resort. Notre-Dame-des-Monts
Notre-Dame-des-Monts is a municipality of Charlevoix-Est Regional County Municipality, in the Capitale-Nationale region of Quebec, Canada. Les Éboulements is a municipality in the Capitale-Nationale region of Quebec, Canada. La Malbaie
La Malbaie is a municipality in the Charlevoix-Est Regional County Municipality in the Province of Quebec, Canada, situated on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River at the mouth of the Malbaie River. It was formerly known as Murray Bay. La Malbaie is the seat of the judicial district of Charlevoix. L'Isle-aux-Coudres
L'Isle-aux-Coudres is a municipality in Quebec, Canada, in the Charlevoix Regional County Municipality in the Charlevoix area of the Capitale-Nationale region. It is located on and contiguous with Coudres Island (''Île aux Coudres''), located in the St. Lawrence River about south from the mainland. Clermont is a ''ville'' in the Canadian province of Quebec, and the seat of government for the Charlevoix-Est Regional County Municipality. It is located on the southern banks of the Malbaie River. Baie-Sainte-Catherine
Baie-Sainte-Catherine, Quebec is a town in Quebec, Canada. The municipal's territory extends along the Saguenay and Saint Lawrence rivers, whereas the town itself is on the small St. Catherine Bay, which is located at the confluence of these two rivers. Sagard is an unorganized territory and hamlet in the Capitale-Nationale region of Quebec, Canada, part of the Charlevoix-Est Regional County Municipality. The hamlet of Sagard () is located on the eastern banks of the Little Saguenay River, along Route 170 between Saint-Siméon and Petit-Saguenay.
