Charleston High School (Missouri)
Charleston High School is a public high school that serves 313 students from grades 9–12, located in Charleston, Missouri. The principal is Jamarcus Williams. Athletics Charleston has won 12 Missouri state high school boys basketball championships: 1975, 1980, 1983, 1986, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1996, 2007, 2012 and 2022. In addition, Charleston has finished in 2nd through 4th place 12 times in the state basketball championships from 1977 through 2020. Their basketball program has produced Ricky Frazier who was the 26th over all pick in the 1982 NBA draft to the Chicago Bulls. Their baseball program has produced professional athlete Matt Whiteside and James Naile. The football program produced Charlie Babb. Babb was a safety with the Miami Dolphins football team 1972–79 and was on the team that won the Super Bowl. Charleston High School is a public high school in Charleston, Mississippi, United States. In addition to Charleston it serves Tippo. History In 1999 there was $100,000 spent for a laboratory for biology classes. The school held its first racially integrated prom in April 2008, which was the subject of the 2008 HBO documentary ''Prom Night in Mississippi''. The documentary focused on the school and the efforts to have a mixed prom instead of segregated proms, with one for whites and the other for blacks. In 2010, the graduation rate was 68.8%. Charleston High School is a former high school that was located on the east end of Charleston, West Virginia. The school was consolidated with Stonewall Jackson High School on the west side of Charleston in 1989 to form Capital High School. Located on multiple parts throughout Charleston during its existence, the final site was on a parcel bordered by Washington Street East, Brooks Street and Lee Street, adjacent from CAMC General Hospital. History 1818–1915 There were three Mercer Schools. Mercer Academy was built in 1818 on Quarrier and Hale Streets. The second Mercer School, constructed in 1888, was on the site of where the last Charleston High building was built. This building was used as a high school from 1888 to 1890, and then as a grade school from 1890 to 1903. The date of demolition is unknown. The school is the sole high school managed by the Charleston School District. Walker Valley High School
Walker Valley High School (WVHS) is a public high school in the Bradley County Schools system located in the northern part of Bradley County, Tennessee near Charleston. The school serves about 1,600 students in grades 9–12. The school's mascot is the mustang and its school colors are blue and gold. Walker Valley has been in existence since 2001, and maintains rivalries with Cleveland High School and Bradley Central High School. The current principal is Mrs. Candice Belt.
