Charles Robert Francis
Charles Robert Francis (May 19, 1875 – July 15, 1946) was a Marine who received the Medal of Honor for actions on June 21, 1900, near Tianjin, China during the Boxer Rebellion. Francis was born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, and was a private. He later obtained the rank of sergeant major. Sergeant Major Francis is buried at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Doylestown is a borough and the county seat of Bucks County in Pennsylvania, United States. The United States Army Center of Military History (CMH) is a directorate within the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command. The Institute of Heraldry remains within the Office of the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army. The center is responsible for the appropriate use of history and military records throughout the United States Army.
