Charles Quentin
Charles Quentin (c.1810May 9, 1862) was a German American immigrant, businessman, and Democratic politician. He represented northern Milwaukee County in the Wisconsin State Senate and died in office. Biography Charles Quentin was born in the Kingdom of Prussia in 1810 or 1811. He was educated as a lawyer and served the Prussian government as a commissioner in Russia, England, and France. He was a delegate from Prussia to the World's expositions in London and Paris. After the March Revolution, which saw the Prussian army massacre hundreds of protesters, Quentin quit the service of the Prussian government and emigrated to the United States. He visited several northwestern states before finally choosing to settle at Milwaukee in 1851. At Milwaukee, Quentin worked as a real estate dealer under the firm name Charles Quentin & Co. Wisconsin's 5th State Senate District
The 5th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in southeast Wisconsin, the district is composed of parts of western Milwaukee County, and eastern Waukesha County. It includes the cities of Brookfield, New Berlin, and Wauwatosa, as well as most of the city of West Allis. Current elected officials Rob Hutton is the senator representing the 5th district since January 2023. The Democratic Party of Wisconsin is the affiliate of the Democratic Party in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is currently headed by chair Ben Wikler. Important issues for the state party include support for workers and unions, strong public education, and environmental protection. Since the 2010 passage of the Affordable Care Act, Wisconsin Democrats have prioritized fully expanding Medicaid in the state, a policy that Republicans have blocked.
