Wren Williams
Wren Williams is an American businessman, attorney, and politician serving as delegate for the 47th district of the Virginia House of Delegates. Williams previously represented the 9th district until the 2021 redistricting. Williams, a Republican, defeated seven-term incumbent Charles Poindexter in the Republican primary, and Democratic nominee, activist Bridgette Craighead, in the 2021 Virginia House of Delegates election. In 2022, Williams proposed a bill (House Bill number 781) that included a requirement that Virginia public schools must teach certain aspects of American history in an effort to eliminate Critical Race Theory being taught in schools. Ward Lynn Armstrong (born June 2, 1956 in Bassett, Virginia) is an American trial lawyer and Democratic politician. He served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 1992 to 2011, and served as the minority leader from 2007 to 2011. He then attended Duke University, where he earned a business degree in 1977. In 1980, Armstrong received a JD degree from the University of Richmond School of Law. The Independent Greens of Virginia (also known as the Indy Greens) was the state affiliate of the Independence Party of America in the Commonwealth of Virginia. 2021 Virginia House Of Delegates Election
The 2021 Virginia House of Delegates election for the 162nd Virginia General Assembly were held on November 2, 2021 to coincide with biennial elections in the U.S. state of Virginia. All 100 Delegates are elected to two-year terms in single-member constituencies. Primary elections took place on June 8. This election coincided with the Virginia gubernatorial, lieutenant gubernatorial, and Attorney General elections, all of which were won by Republicans. The upper house of the Virginia General Assembly, the Senate of Virginia, will hold its next election on November 7, 2023. The results certified on November 15 show Republicans flipping seven seats and regaining a majority in the House of Delegates. All races have been called by the Associated Press.
