Charles Owen (pianist)
Charles Owen (born 1971) is a British classical pianist. Biography Charles Owen was born in Cambridge and grew up in Hampshire and Worcestershire. The eldest of four children, his father is a Church of England clergyman and his mother a school teacher and archivist. He is the brother of John Owen, the Chief Designer of the Mercedes Formula 1 team. After lessons from his first teacher, a pianist in his father's congregation, he won a scholarship to the Yehudi Menuhin School where he studied under Seta Tanyel and collaborated with many fellow students, including Katharine Gowers and Paul Watkins. Owen went on to study with the distinguished Russian pianist Irina Zaritskaya at the Royal College of Music, where he won the Chappell Gold Medal. This was followed by further studies with leading British pianist Imogen Cooper. Charles Lewis Owen
Charles Lewis Owen (July 15, 1852 – September 20, 1926) was an American-born manufacturer and political figure in Ontario, Canada. He represented Northumberland East in the House of Commons of Canada from 1907 to 1911 as a Conservative. He was born in Oriskany, New York, the son of Welsh immigrants. In 1875, Owen married Mary Eliza Bain. Owen had been a manufacturer of woollens. He served as reeve and county warden, and was mayor of Campbellford in 1912. Owen also served as chairman of the board of education and president of the public library board. Owen was first elected to the House of Commons in a 1907 by-election held following the death of Edward Cochrane. Mansfield Owen
Charles Mansfield Owen (24 October 1852 – 4 November 1940) was an Anglican priest. He was born at Rodborough, Gloucestershire in 1852, the seventh son of barrister Herbert Owen and Catherine Paterson. He was educated at Merton College, Oxford. Ordained in 1875, he began his career with a curacy at ''Holy Trinity, Southampton''. In 1880, he became Vicar of Woolston then three years later St. George's Church, Edgbaston. Appointed to be Rural Dean of the area in 1905, he was promoted again to the post of Archdeacon of Aston and then in 1912 to Archdeacon of Birmingham.
