Charles Lafayette King (February 21, 1895 – May 7, 1957) was an American film actor who appeared in more than 400 films between 1915 and 1956. King was born in Dallas, Texas, and died in Hollywood, California, from cirrhosis of liver. Hillsboro, Texas
Hillsboro is a city in and the county seat of Hill County, Texas, Hill County, Texas, United States. The population was 8,221 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. History Hillsboro was named for Hill County. At one point during Bonnie and Clyde's robberies in Hillsboro, they took the Peterson family hostage at their own farm. Later the Petersons said that Bonnie and Clyde held them at gunpoint until they surrendered their barn for them to sleep in for a few nights before running again. The city is known for its abundance of restored Victorian homes and its historic county courthouse, which on January 1, 1993, was heavily damaged by an electrical fire. It was rebuilt, courtesy of donations from around the world and two concerts sponsored by Hill County native Willie Nelson. A Man's Land
''A Man's Land'' is a 1932 American pre-Code Western film, written by Adele Buffington and directed by Phil Rosen. It stars Hoot Gibson, Marion Shilling, and Robert Ellis, and was released on June 11, 1932. Plot Tex Mason's ranch is facing a lot of cattle rustling that will put them out of business. Unknown to Tex is that Joe, one of his ranch hands, is in cahoots with John Thomas who desires to take over the ranch for himself when it fails. When the actual owner of the ranch, who lives in Chicago dies, he leaves half the ranch to Tex and half to his daughter, Peggy Turner. Peggy desires to turn the cattle ranch into a dude ranch. Accompanied by her maiden Aunt Flossie, Peggy travels West and immediately butts horns with Tex. Peggy feels that cattle branding is cruelty to dumb animals, and turns against Tex when he dresses the cattle up in pink and blue ribbons.
