Charles Peter Kennedy (25 November 1959 – 1 June 2015) was a British Liberal Democrats (UK), Liberal Democrat politician who served as Leader of the Liberal Democrats from 1999 Liberal Democrats leadership election, 1999 to 2006 Liberal Democrats leadership election, 2006, and was the Member of Parliament (United Kingdom), Member of Parliament (MP) for Ross, Skye and Lochaber (UK Parliament constituency), Ross, Skye and Lochaber from 1983 United Kingdom general election, 1983 to 2015 United Kingdom general election, 2015. ''The Right Honourable'' ( abbreviation: ''Rt Hon.'' or variations) is an honorific style traditionally applied to certain persons and collective bodies in the United Kingdom, the former British Empire and the Commonwealth of Nations. The term is predominantly used today as a style associated with the holding of certain senior public offices in the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, and to a lesser extent, Australia.
