Charles H. Reynolds
Charles H. Reynolds (October 10, 1924 – January 27, 1996) was a justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court from 1991 to 1996. Life and Education He was born October 10, 1924 in Warren County, Kentucky, the son of Charles H. Reynolds (Senior) and Hilda Stout Reynolds. He obtained a bachelor's degree from Western Kentucky University and then his law degree from the University of Louisville. In World War II he served with the Army Air Force and was decorated with three Bronze Stars for heroism in combat. He was a Catholic and active in his faith, his death was recognised by the local Bishop. Career He started practising law in 1950, going on to serve Bowling Green and Warren Count as city judge, county attorney, chairman of the planning and zoning commission and commissioner of the Bowling Green district court. Kentucky Supreme Court
The Kentucky Supreme Court was created by a 1975 constitutional amendment and is the state supreme court of the U.S. state of Kentucky. Prior to that the Kentucky Court of Appeals was the only appellate court in Kentucky. The Kentucky Court of Appeals is now Kentucky's intermediate appellate court. Criminal appeals involving a sentence of death, life imprisonment, or imprisonment of twenty years or more are heard directly by the Kentucky Supreme Court, bypassing the Kentucky Court of Appeals. All other cases are heard on a discretionary basis on appeal from the Kentucky Court of Appeals. The Kentucky Supreme Court promulgates the Rules of Court and Rules of Evidence. Walter Arnold Baker
Walter Arnold Baker (February 20, 1937 – May 24, 2010) was an American lawyer and politician who served in both houses of the Kentucky General Assembly, in the presidential administration of Ronald Reagan, and on the Kentucky Supreme Court. A graduate of Harvard Law School, Baker also served as a judge advocate general in the Kentucky Air National Guard for 20 years. Baker's political career began with his election to the Kentucky House of Representatives in 1968, concurrent with the election of fellow Republican Louie B. Nunn as governor. Baker supported Nunn's efforts to raise the state sales tax to benefit education, the first of several education-related causes he would champion. In 1972, Baker was elected to the Kentucky Senate and was three times chosen as the Republican caucus chair. Warren County is a county located in the south central portion of the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 134,554, making it the fifth-most populous county in Kentucky. The county seat is Bowling Green. Warren County is now classified as a wet county after voters approved the measure in 2018.
