Charles Gaines (basketball)
Charles Wayne Gaines (born October 15, 1981) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Anhui Dragons of the Chinese National Basketball League. He played high school basketball in his native city of Houston, and he spent two years at Southwest Missouri State in the MVC before transferring to Southern Miss, where he played his two remaining years of college basketball eligibility. After going undrafted in the 2004 NBA draft, he started his professional career in the Continental Basketball Association with the Michigan Mayhem, leading the league in rebounding. After several years in Europe (Italy, France, Spain and Turkey), one year in the NBA D-League and one in Israel, Gaines moved to the Chinese Basketball Association. While in China he earned an All-Star selection, was the 2011 scoring champion, and he twice led the league in rebounding (2014 and 2015). In the sport of basketball, there are five players play per team, each assigned to positions. Historically, these players have been assigned, to positions defined by the role they play on the court, from a strategic point of view. 2009–10 Chinese Basketball Association Season
The 2009–10 CBA season was the 15th CBA season. Guangdong Southern Tigers won their third consecutive CBA title for the second time, defeating Xinjiang Flying Tigers in the Finals, four games to one. Yunnan Bulls were suspended for the season due to salary reasons, and would conditionally retain their eligibility for the 2010–11 season. Foreign players of each team could play no more than 6 quarters (5 quarters when facing Bayi Rockets) collectively each game. Asian players were not regarded as foreign players. The Zhejiang Golden Bulls, or Zhejiang Chouzhou Golden Rent are a Chinese professional basketball team based in Yiwu in Zhejiang, China. It competes in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA), in the Southern Division. Its corporate sponsor is Zhejiang Chouzhou Commercial Bank.
