Charles Frederick Augustus, Count Of Lippe
Count Frederick Charles Augustus of Lippe-Biesterfeld (20 January 1706 in Biesterfeld – 31 July 1781 in Friedrichsruh) was a Count of Lippe and Lord of Lippe-Biesterfeld, Sternberg and Schwalenberg and a Knight of the Order of the Red Eagle. He was the eldest son of Rudolf Ferdinand of Lippe-Sternberg-Schwalenberg (17 March 1671 – 12 July 1736) and Louise Juliane of Kunowitz (21 August 1671 – 21 October 1754) and the grandson of Jobst Herman of Lippe-Biesterfeld. Life Charles Frederick Augustus was the last Lord of Biesterfeld. During his reign, he had the manor's brewery moved from Schwalenberg to Biestereld and added a distillery, investing 6000 taler in this endeavour. In 1763, he constructed a hunting lodge in the Sachsenwald forest, near Hamburg, named Friedrichsruh after himself. Bentheim-Tecklenburg was a German county based in the region around Tecklenburg in northern North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. History Bentheim-Tecklenburg emerged as a partition of the County of Bentheim in 1277, and was partitioned between itself and Bentheim-Lingen in 1450. Count Conrad converted his county to Lutheranism in 1541. In 1557, it was inherited by Bentheim-Steinfurt. Count Simon VI of Lippe (15 April 1554 in Detmold – 7 December 1613 in Brake (now part of Lemgo)) was an imperial count and ruler of the County of Lippe from 1563 until his death. Life Simon was the son of Count Bernhard VIII, Count of Lippe, Bernhard VIII of Lippe (1527–1563) and his wife Catherine (1524–1583), daughter of the Count Philip III, Count of Waldeck, Philip III of Waldeck (state), Waldeck-Eisenberg and Anna of Cleves. Since he was still a minor when his father died, his uncle Hermann Simon of Pyrmont took up the regency until 1579. Simon was an intelligent prince, a man after the renaissance ideal. Otto, Count of Lippe-Brake (21 December 1589 – 18 November 1657 in Blomberg) was the first ruling Count of Lippe-Brake. Life Otto was born on 21 December 1589 as the son of Count Simon VI and his wife, Elisabeth of Holstein-Schaumburg (b. 1556) was born. When his father died in 1613, his elder brother Simon VII took up government of the country, while the youngest brother Philip I moved to Bückeburg, where he later founded the Schaumburg-Lippe line. In 1621, the county was divided again, and Otto received his own part and founded the Lippe-Brake line, which would die out in 1709. Otto died on 18 November 1657 in Blomberg. Count Simon VII of Lippe (30 December 1587 at Brake Castle near Lemgo – 26 March 1627 in Detmold) was a ruler of the Reformed county of Lippe-Detmold. Life He was the second-eldest son of Count Simon VI of Lippe and his wife Elizabeth of Schauenburg and Holstein. In 1601, Simon and his older brother Bernard travelled to Kassel, where they studied at the court school. After Bernard's untimely death in 1602, Simon returned to Brake, where his father introduced him systematically to the business of government. When his father died in 1613, he took up government. In 1617, he managed to end a bitter dispute his late father had had with the city of Lemgo. Simon VI had tried to enforce Calvinism throughout the county, but the citizens of Lemgo preferred Lutheranism.
