Charles Farrar is an American songwriter, composer, and producer, best known for his songwriting work with vocal groups SWV, 702 (group), 702, Today (group), Today, and Shades (group), Shades. In the late 1990s/early 2000s, Farrar, alongside Troy Taylor (record producer), Troy Taylor, was a member of "The Characters (Production Team), The Characters": a production duo that worked on Boyz II Men's ''Cooleyhighharmony'', as well as with Kenny Lattimore and numerous other artists. ''Wendy Moten'' is the debut album by American R&B singer Wendy Moten, released in 1992. It features the single " Come In Out of the Rain", which, although a minor hit on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, was an Adult Contemporary smash, peaking at number 5. It had similar success in the UK Singles Chart, where it peaked at number 8 when released in 1994. A second single from the album, "So Close to Love" also charted in the UK in 1994, peaking at number 35. Critical reception In a review for AllMusic, Steve Huey gave the album three out of five stars, saying that the album "displays a confident vocalist with a theatrical flair" and that "Moten is equally comfortable with urban R&B and smooth adult contemporary balladry, although her true affinity seems to be for the latter." ''Netflix Presents: The Characters'' is an American streaming television comedy sketch show that premiered on Netflix on March 11, 2016. It features eight up-and-coming comedians, who each write and star in their own 30-minute show. The comedians featured in the show are Lauren Lapkus, Kate Berlant, Phil Burgers, Paul W. Downs, John Early, Tim Robinson, Natasha Rothwell, and Henry Zebrowski. Eight episodes were released on March 11, 2016. The following month, Netflix cancelled the series after one season. Keisha Jackson (born August 17, 1965) is an R&B singer, and is the daughter of R&B & soul singer-songwriter Millie Jackson. Having grown up in a family rich with music history, Keisha’s childhood was immersed in music. People like The Isley Brothers and The O’Jays would visit her house, and she worked as a background singer for her mom when she was fifteen. Keisha Jackson went to college for two and a half years before moving to Atlanta, Georgia where she tried to pursue a music career. She formed a girl group with her friend called Obsession and played the clubs around the city of Atlanta. Keisha then got an opportunity to put out some albums, and in 1989, released her self-titled debut. Channel Live is an American hip hop duo composed of Vincent "Tuffy" Morgan and Hakim Green, which recorded for Capitol Records and Flavor Unit Records. Discovered by KRS-One, the duo released its debut album, ''Station Identification'', in 1995. It spawned the group's biggest hit, "Mad Izm", which peaked at 54 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Brownstone is an American female contemporary R&B group that was popular during the mid-1990s. They are best known for their 1994 hit single " If You Love Me", which was nominated for a Best R&B Performance Grammy Award. "Grapevyne", " 5 Miles to Empty" and "Pass the Lovin'" also brought them some success, as well as their rendition of "I Can't Tell You Why", a song originally recorded by The Eagles. "I Can't Tell You Why" is a song by the American rock band Eagles that appeared on their 1979 album '' The Long Run''. It was written by band members Timothy B. Schmit, Glenn Frey and Don Henley. Recorded in March 1978, it was the first song finished for the album and the first Eagles song to feature Schmit on lead vocals. Riff (American Band)
Riff is an American R&B and soul a cappella group from Paterson, New Jersey. The group RIFF appeared in the 1989 biographical-drama film, '' Lean on Me'' starring Morgan Freeman as the 'Songbirds' in the bathroom scene. They recorded two albums in the 1990s.
