Charles Egon III, Prince Of Fürstenberg
Charles Egon III of Fürstenberg (German: ''Karl Egon III. Leopold Maria Wilhelm Maximilian Fürst zu Fürstenberg''; 4 March 1820 – 15 March 1892) was an officer in the armies of the Grand Duchy of Baden and the Kingdom of Prussia, rising to Cavalry General. He was born in Donaueschingen, the son of Charles Egon II, Prince of Fürstenberg and Amalie of Baden. From 1854 to 1892 he was also the senior member of the Swabian line of the House of Fürstenberg. Due to his extensive estates he was a member of the Prussian House of Lords, the upper chamber of Baden and the upper chamber of the Estates of Württemberg. From 1864 to 1892 he was president of the Association of German Standesherren. He died in Paris and was succeeded by his son Charles Egon IV. Friedrich von Weech (16 October 1837 – 17 November 1905) was a German historian and archivist. Biography Friedrich Otto Aristides von Weech was born in Munich. By this time his father, the army officer Friedrich Joseph von Weech (1794-1837), had died in Athens during the summer, while serving in the army of young King Otto. The boy attended school in Munich, then spending several years taught by monks at Metten Abbey in Lower Bavaria, before returning to Munich where he spent the final two years of his schooling at the prestigious (secondary school). He attended University of Munich (1856) and, for a couple of terms, Heidelberg (1857). He received his doctorate from Munich in June 1860. ''Soldatisches Führertum'' (''Soldiers' Leadership'') was a ten-volume reference work in German, containing short biographies of generals in the Prussian Army by Kurt von Priesdorff. Due to the loss of the Prussian Army Archives in World War II, it has become the main source for the biographies of Prussian generals. History Johann Friedrich Seyfart had made the first attempt at a systematic catalogue of Prussian generals - as part of the research for his 1767 series of Prussian regimental histories he collected biographies of all these regiments' officers. Priesdorff was a lieutenant and battalion- adjutant in the Grenadier-Regiment „König Friedrich Wilhelm IV.“ (1. Grand Duchy Of Baden
The Grand Duchy of Baden (german: Großherzogtum Baden) was a state in the southwest German Empire on the east bank of the Rhine. It existed between 1806 and 1918. It came into existence in the 12th century as the Margraviate of Baden and subsequently split into the states of Baden-Durlach and Baden-Baden, which were reunified in 1771.
