Charles E. Hanson
Charles E. Hanson was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Biography Hanson was born on February 27, 1855, in Modum, Norway. In 1871, he settled in Pierce County, Wisconsin, where he eventually became a farm owner. On April 27, 1879, Hanson married Belle Anderson. They would have six children. Hanson was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He died in 1932. Political career Hanson was elected to the Assembly in 1916, 1918, 1920, 1922 and 1928. During the 1925 session, Hanson was sergeant-at-arms of the Assembly. Wisconsin State Assembly
The Wisconsin State Assembly is the lower house of the Wisconsin Legislature. Together with the smaller Wisconsin Senate, the two constitute the legislative branch of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Representatives are elected for two-year terms, elected during the fall elections. If a vacancy occurs in an Assembly seat between elections, it may be filled only by a special election. The Wisconsin Constitution limits the size of the State Assembly to between 54 and 100 members inclusive. Since 1973, the state has been divided into 99 Assembly districts apportioned amongst the state based on population as determined by the decennial census, for a total of 99 representatives. Modum
Modum is a municipality in Buskerud in Viken county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Vikersund. The municipality of Modum was established on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The area has a long tradition of skiing with several famous skiers. Methodist Episcopal Church
The Methodist Episcopal Church (MEC) was the oldest and largest Methodist denomination in the United States from its founding in 1784 until 1939.
