Charles Drake (actor)
Charles Drake (born Charles Ruppert; October 2, 1917 – September 10, 1994) was an American actor. Biography Drake was born in New York City. He graduated from Nichols College and became a salesman. In 1939, he turned to acting and signed a contract with Warner Bros., but he was not immediately successful. During World War II, Drake served in the United States Army. Drake returned to Hollywood in 1945 and was cast in ''Conflict'' which starred Humphrey Bogart. His contract with Warner Brothers eventually ended. In the 1940s, he did some freelance work, including ''A Night in Casablanca'' (1946). In 1949, he moved to Universal Studios, where he co-starred with James Stewart and Shelley Winters in ''Winchester '73'' (1950) and again co-starred with Stewart in the film ''Harvey'' (also 1950) a screen adaptation of the Broadway play. East Lyme is a town in New London County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 18,693 at the 2020 census. The villages of Niantic and Flanders are located in the town. Geography East Lyme is located in southern New London County, west of Waterford and Montville, east of Lyme and Old Lyme, and south of Salem. Long Island Sound is to the south. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which is land and , or 19%, is water. Villages The town consists primarily of two villages, Flanders and Niantic. It is common for the town of East Lyme to be erroneously called "Niantic", due to this side of town being the "beach" side which is popular with tourists and visitors in the summer months. ''Schilling Playhouse'' is an American/British 30 minute anthology series produced for syndication by Edwin H. Knopf. The first season's episodes were filmed in the United States, and episodes thereafter filmed in the UK. Approximately 40 episodes were made. Charles Drake was the host, and among the guest stars were Patricia Neal, Peter O'Toole, Bert Lahr, Gary Merrill, Mel Ferrer, Donald Pleasence, Leslie Dwyer, Lois Maxwell, and Kim Hunter. It was one of the first major television appearances for actress Connie Hines, in the first season episode "Mean Mountain". Originally planned to run on CBS, ''Rendezvous'' was replaced by '' Desilu Playhouse'', which led to ''Rendezvouss being put into syndication. The Deadly Years
"The Deadly Years" is the twelfth episode of the second season of the American science fiction television series ''Star Trek''. Written by David P. Harmon and directed by Joseph Pevney, it was first broadcast December 8, 1967. In the episode, strange radiation causes members of the crew of the ''Enterprise'' to age rapidly. Plot The USS ''Enterprise'' is ferrying a senior officer, Commodore Stocker, to Starbase 10 where he is due to assume command. On the way, the ship makes a stop at planet Gamma Hydra IV to resupply the research station there.
