Charles-Arthur Dumoulin Cannon
Charles-Arthur Dumoulin Cannon (11 September 1905 – 23 September 1976) was a Liberal party member of the House of Commons of Canada. He was a lawyer by career. He was first elected at the Îles-de-la-Madeleine riding in the 1949 general election. Cannon was re-elected for successive terms there in 1953 and 1957. After completing his final term, the 23rd Canadian Parliament, Cannon was defeated by James Russell Keays of the Progressive Conservative party. Some of Cannon's relatives have also been Members of Parliament, namely his grandfather Charles Fitzpatrick, his uncle Lucien Cannon and his nephew Lawrence Cannon. Lucien Cannon
Lucien Cannon, (January 16, 1887 – February 14, 1950) was a Canadian lawyer and politician. Born in Arthabaska, Quebec, the son of Lawrence John Cannon and Aurélie Dumoulin, he studied law at the Laval University and was called to the Quebec Bar in 1910. His brother was Lawrence Arthur Dumoulin Cannon, a puisne judge of the Supreme Court of Canada. His nephew, Charles-Arthur Dumoulin Cannon, and grandson, Lawrence Cannon, were also MPs. In 1911 federal election, he ran as a Liberal candidate for the House of Commons of Canada in the riding of Charlevoix losing to Joseph David Rodolphe Forget. In a 1913 by-election, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Quebec in the riding of Dorchester. A Liberal, he was re-elected in 1916. He resigned in 1917 to run again for the Canadian House of Commons in the riding of Dorchester in a by-election. He was defeated, but was elected in the 1917 federal election. Lawrence Cannon
Lawrence Cannon, (born December 6, 1947) is a Canadian politician from Quebec and Prime Minister Stephen Harper's former Quebec lieutenant. In early 2006, he was made the Minister of Transport. On October 30, 2008, he relinquished oversight of Transport and was sworn in as Minister of Foreign Affairs. He was defeated in the 2011 federal election by the NDP's Mathieu Ravignat. He was appointed as Canadian Ambassador to France in May 2012, and he served in that position until September 2017. Sir Charles Fitzpatrick (December 19, 1851 – June 17, 1942) was a Canadian lawyer and politician, who served as the fifth Chief Justice of Canada. He was born in Quebec City, Canada East, to John Fitzpatrick and Mary Connolly.
