Charleroi Metro Line 4
Line 4 is a line of the Charleroi Metro in Belgium operated by TEC Charleroi, running from Soleimont in Gilly (northeast of Charleroi) to the loop around downtown Charleroi, before heading back to Soleilmont. Line 4 was inaugurated on and replaced former lines 54 and 55 following the completion of the metro loop line around downtown Charleroi. Introduction of new line numbers (1, 2, 3 and 4) in February 2012 coincided with the formal association of colors to line numbers. The official color for line 4 is blue. Operations Line 4 has a length of (including the return portion to Soleilmont), all on premetro infrastructure. It has 21 premetro stations (14 distinct). Line 4 is the shortest line of the Charleroi Metro network. Trams drive on the right on the downtown loop, and on the left on the Soleimont branch (they switch sides between Waterloo and Samaritaine). Charleroi-West Railway Station
Charleroi-West (french: Charleroi-Ouest) is a secondary railway station serving Charleroi, Belgium. It is one of two railway stations located in downtown Charleroi, the other one being the much larger Charleroi-South railway station. Charleroi-West is also a station of the Charleroi metro. Rail station Charleroi-West is a small, unstaffed station with no building or other services of its own, served only by Belgian railway line 140 linking Charleroi to Ottignies. Charleroi-West used to be a dead-end station (and thus the terminus of line 140) until 27 May 1987, when a rail connection to Charleroi-South was opened. The 6 km industrial line 260 links Charleroi-Ouest with the freight classification yard of Monceau-sur-Sambre. Because of its proximity to Charleroi-South and the limited train service, Charleroi-West sees very little passenger traffic, with a weekday average of 75 boarding passengers on weekdays (20 on Saturdays, 30 on Sundays) in 2007. Sart-Culpart (Charleroi Metro)
Sart-Culpart is a Charleroi Metro station located in Gilly, Belgium (part of the Charleroi municipality), opened on 27 February 2012 as part of the Soleilmont extension of the Gilly branch of the Charleroi Pre-metro. The station is built at ground level and features a two lateral platforms. The station is located in TEC Charleroi fare zone 2. The original Sart-Culpart station structure was built in the 1980s as an underground station slightly to the east of the current location, but has never been put into service since then. The unfinished station has been vandalized through the years and it was rebuilt in a more urbanized and secure location as part of the 2009-2011 extension of the Gilly branch of the network.
