Charity Times Awards
The UK Charity Awards are annual awards for outstanding achievements within the UK not-for-profit sector. Categories reflect the management of charities and not-for-profits, and awards are made to individuals, departments and whole organizations. Past individual winners have included Lord Rix and Richard Curtis, both for the Lifetime Achievement Award. The event is hosted by ''Charity Times'' magazine, with help from BBC Training and Development and The Community Channel, as well as commercial sponsors. Lord Rix
Brian Norman Roger Rix, Baron Rix, (27 January 1924 – 20 August 2016) was an English actor-manager, who produced a record-breaking sequence of long-running farces on the London stage, including ''Dry Rot'', ''Simple Spymen'' and ''One for the Pot''. His one-night TV shows made him the joint-highest paid star on the BBC. He often worked with his wife Elspet Gray and sister Sheila Mercier, who became the matriarch in ''Emmerdale Farm''. After his first child was born with Down syndrome, Rix became a campaigner for disability causes, among others. He entered the House of Lords as a crossbencher in 1992 and was president of Mencap from 1998 until his death. Richard Curtis
Richard Whalley Anthony Curtis (born 8 November 1956) is a New Zealand-born British screenwriter, producer and film director. One of Britain's most successful comedy screenwriters, he is known primarily for romantic comedy films, among them ''Four Weddings and a Funeral'' (1994), ''Notting Hill'' (1999), ''Bridget Jones's Diary'' (2001), ''Love Actually'' (2003), '' Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason'' (2004), '' About Time'' (2013) and '' Yesterday'' (2019). He is also known for the drama ''War Horse'' (2011) and for having co-written the sitcoms ''Blackadder'', ''Mr. Bean'' and ''The Vicar of Dibley''. Community Channel (UK)
Together TV (formerly The Community Channel) is a British free-to-air television channel owned by The Community Channel, a community benefit society. The channel targets a women's audience aged 40 to 60, with programming related to health and wellness, hobbies, and creativity. The channel was originally launched on 18 September 2000 as The Community Channel with programming focused on promoting volunteerism and charitable organisations. It was initially backed by other British broadcasters who provided resources and other programming to the service. After selling its previous Freeview slot to A&E Networks in 2017, the channel re-launched on Freeview in January 2018 under its current name.
