Armand-François-Marie De Charbonnel
Armand-François-Marie de Charbonnel (1 December 1802 – 29 March 1891) was the Bishop of Toronto from 1847 to 1860 and the only French and non-English priest to hold the post. Early years Born in Château du Flachat, France he was the second son of Jean-Baptiste de Charbonnel, Comte de Charbonnel, and Marie-Claudine de Pradier. At the age of ten, he was sent to a school operated by the Basilian Fathers in Annonay. Despite his father's wish that he enter the military, at seventeen, he went to the Séminaire de Saint-Sulpice in Issy to study for the priesthood. He was ordained on 17 December 1825. Charbonnel joined the Society of Saint-Sulpice in 1826 and became professor of dogmatic theology and scripture, teaching at Sulpician seminaries in Versailles, Bordeaux, Marseilles, and Lyons. Charbonnel's intervention during a workers' revolt in that Lyons in 1834 saved the city from destruction, but he would not accept the cross of the Legion of Honour for that action. Canada Ch ...

Charbonnel et Walker ''Chocolatier'' is a British firm of chocolate makers based in Bond Street, London. History Encouraged by Albert, Prince of Wales, later King Edward VII, in 1875 Mme Virginie Eugenie Lévy, née Charbonnel, of ''Maison Boissier'' chocolate house in Paris, and Mrs Minnie Walker began a partnership in London as "Parisian Confectioners and Bon-Bon Manufacturers". Charbonnel et Walker History The partnership of Charbonnel and icWalker was dissolved on 16 April 1878 and Mrs Walker carried on alone until her death on 8 June 1883. The notice of death published in the ''London Gazette'' referred to "Mary Ann Alphandery also known as Minnie Walker". The company of Charbonnel and Walker Limited went into liquidation in June 1894. The connection with the royal family continues to the present day, as Charbonnel et Walker hold a Royal Warrant as Chocolate Manufacturers to the Queen. Jean Charbonnel (22 April 1927 – 19 February 2014) was a French politician. Biography Born on 22 April 1927 in La Fère, Aisnes, Charbonnel served as a deputy of Corrèze between 1962 and 1993, as a state secretary for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 1966 and 1967, then as the Minister of Industrial Renewal between 1972 and 1974. He was also the mayor of Brive Brive-la-Gaillarde (; Limousin dialect of oc, Briva la Galharda) is a commune of France. It is a sub-prefecture and the largest city of the Corrèze department. Marie Louise Charbonnel (1880–1969) was a French contralto opera singer who made her début at the Lyon Opera in 1901. She was spectacularly successful at her Paris Opera début in 1907 when she played Dalila in Camille Saint-Saëns' ''Samson et Dalila''. Biography Born on 18 December 1880 in Lyon, Marie Louise Charbonnel studied music theory, piano and voice at the Lyon Conservatory. At the Lyon Opera, she performed contralto roles in Gluck's '' Orphée et Euridice'', ''Carmen'', Amneris in ''Aida'', and Azucena in ''Il trovatore''. On 24 February 1906 at the Monte Carlo Opera, she played Vanina at the première of Saint-Saëns' ''L'ancêtre''. She also sang at the Paris Opera, playing the First Norn in the French première of ''Götterdämmerung'' (1908) and Erda in the première of ''Das Rheingold''.
